The plan: Weld square tubing across the scissors jack ($5 at a local pawn shop), insert square bar with a 1/4 inch pin protruding vertically from one end...pin the bar in the tubing with a ball-detent pin. Slide the jack under the bracket and engage the 1/4 inch hole. Lift the wheel.
Reversing the square bar in the tubing will allow the jack to be cranked from the front of the aircraft for either wheel. I may have to extend the base of the jack to keep it outside of the lifting point so it doesn't tip over.

I felt a fitting beginning to my latest 365 Project would be Julie and my kiss just after Midnight. We're at Lucky's in Marysville where my band Sibling Rivalry was playing their New Year's Eve party. It was a good night with a great crowd. Scott & Regina were there with Jeff & Tammy!

As you'd expect from an excavation in a former burial ground, we've found a lot of coffin fittings sitting loose within the soil, mostly in the form of iron coffin nails and this selection of handles. They may not seem too exciting, but fittings like these can be an intriguing window into the social and economic history of the time. Analysis of them could potentially tell us what date the coffin was produced, what style of coffin they were attached to and even where it was produced. Were the fashionable folk of Kidderminster being buried in fancy coffins? Or did they favour plain styles? Where were the coffins produced? Watch this space...!
