The piles of manure in the foreground kind of ruin the romance.

As I open my window this first Spring Day,
The bright sun pulls my thoughts so far away..
I see small vapor clouds here and there,
Coming and going, then dissolving slowly in the Spring air.
Below, swarming the scented flowers are the busy bees,
While above, the soft wind is gently swaying the tall blooming trees;
In the distance, the sun rays washing the orchards with pure light,
That will later be filled with the crickets' song of the night.
Spring is true Love, as pure as a white dove..
Sent like a messenger from Heaven's gates above,
As a gift for our freedom of choice and our free will,
And for all the good things that we'll choose this Season to fulfill.

Trying out my friend's Canon 8-15 Fisheye Zoom. Looks like it could be a fun lens to play with.
Buffalo on Antelope Island. I am pretty lucky to live near such a wildlife mecca as antelope island is and I'm sorry to say this is only the second time I've been there. I will have to make more trips in the future. Those dots you see in the picture are bugs. The only problem with this place is the bugs and this wasn't even a bad bug day.

It's the first day of Spring, I have the day off from work, and there's an antique show this weekend. What more could one ask for?... today is gonna be a "ME" day.
I wanted to make this a video. But I need to be much more awake for that... it's almost noon and I'm barely functioning. :-)
"Enjoy your day everyone"!!!... I'm off to meet Sally for lunch...
....but it will be a while before they can swim - the river is still mostly frozen, which is very late. There is a bit of open water at the bend and the geese are hanging out there, waiting for more!

During the last days of winter we experienced ridiculously warm temperatures ( high teens and low 20's celsius) and much fog. Spring entered our part of the world the same way and the Spring rains have begun.
Nearly missed it - there has been so much talk about the economy and politics that St Bridget has been totally forgotten this year. I need to revisit and hopefully get a better shot next time.
Also forgot that today is officially the first day of spring.
3/20 - First Day of Spring
I know it's "You can learn a lot of things from the flowers" But they usually show you it's Spring time!!!! Hope you all have a lovely 1st Day and may all my frozen friends thaw very quickly!!!
Last snow of the season... we hope. Had more snow this year than I can remember and the first one didn't come until February. Momma Nature, we have had enough.
First day of Spring! Went back to check on the red-tailed hawk nest. Saw the male circle overhead then fly away. About 30 minutes later mom popped up with a field mouse in her beak, likely brought to her by the male. Great news as I'm sure she was feeding it to new little ones! Very windy. About 50 yards away and 50 feet high in a tree, had to crop, but thrilled to know the eggs have hatched. :-) Will go back from time to to time to check on things. Red tailed hawks mate for life.

Happy Second day of spring 😝. Saying goodbye and traveling yesterday so I never took the time to share a first day of spring post!
Thanks to all this weather change the peaches were blooming when we had a very nice cold spell sweep through. It was gorgeous to see but I have to admit my hands were freezing!

I found on the web that this lichen would more than likely be Pannaria lurida which forms small leaf-like scales crustose below but free at the tips, so it is squamulose.
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.
Winter made a play (a failed one) to reclaim some territory yesterday on what was the first day of Spring -- snow? Seriously, Winter? You're going to throw some flurries at us? You can punch yourself in the mouth, Winter. We're done with you. You just waddle off into the sunset and melt like Frosty the Snowman. Be gone! I banish thee! Thou shalt not pass! No ticky, no laundry! They call me Mister Tibbs!

What was I saying?
Oh. Yeah. Hanging on for dear life. Got lots of projects, and I'm kind of between the cracks after finishing one revision and now moving back onto Other Secret Projects and other not-so-secret ones. So, forgive my lack of Flickr comments, this week -- next week should be a little looser.
