1954 GMC Fire Engine, AE Recovery and Towing

The fire engine for the town of Tororo. Our friends wanted a picture as their son is a firefighter in the UK. They were amazed to find that they use the same fireproof jackets as UK firefighters!

The fire engine arrived after a car crashed into a lamp post & broke the gas mains.

At the London Museum of Water & Steam. Taken with my Nikon 1 J5. The frame was from 1880, the steam engine from 1914 and it was used during WWI. Its steam engine could pump 900 gallons (4,000+ litres) of water a minute.
