A lovely sunny day out with my group, with a iced over pond... well those that could make it...ending with having to leave the coffee shop...a fire alarm... all the drama. the girls took their drinks with them...I had to much 'stuff to grab' so in sunshine and cold, but hey! it was an experience.

They served the beach communities of Aptos, La Selva Beach and Rio Del Mar in Santa Cruz County, CA.

Attending a 'shout' in Glasgow ciy centre. False Alarm

I spotted the old Galway Fire Engine in the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on our recent trip. From an age where men were hardy, fire engines were fire engines, a pump and not much else! The Museum is dedicated to Road Transport of all types - well worth a visit.

Not sure where this engine is from. I was moving cross-country and it was at my motel. It was In-Transit along with another engine. Photographed at Motel 6 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The fire engine for the town of Tororo. Our friends wanted a picture as their son is a firefighter in the UK. They were amazed to find that they use the same fireproof jackets as UK firefighters!

This is a beauty, and the brass work was fantastic.

Moving into the main hall of the museum, the first thing that caught my eye was this gorgeous old steam powered fire engine.

The placard tells us, "Manufactured by the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company of Manchester, New Hampshire in 1871. This was Waltham's first powered fire fighting equipment, and was in service from 1871 untl the 1930's. The pumper was shipped on a flatcar to help fight the Great Boston Fire of 1872."
