Part of a 5 vehicle set bought very recently is this generic fire engine by Matchbox. Not a favourite of mine! LOL. Mint and boxed.

Well not quite as found. We had to take some wheels down with us to move it. Apparently the originals are on a farm trailer.........
Thanks to FRYSKE original posting, we traced the scrapyard, and bought this Ex West Riding appliance. There are only 3 in existence, of which we have 2.
Just about the right side of acceptable generic Matchbox castings is this Highway Rescue Fire Engine. The front end looks a tad clumsy but nothing too horrendous with everything else after looking believable with its chunky styling. With so many decent licensed Fire Engine models in the Matchbox line up I'm not entirely sure why there is a need for models like this. This gold version was found in a five vehicle set bought from ASDA in the Christmas period of 2015. Mint and boxed.

One pump each from Caversham Road, Whitley Wood, Dee Road and Wokingham stations attended along with the ALP from Slough.
Neat new generic Fire Engine with a classic twist in its styling. You might have thought we would have seen chrome with the license fee its saved but overall very pleasing for its budget price point. Part of Case E. Mint and boxed.
This 1812 patent was signed by President James Madison, Secretary of State James Monroe and Attorney General Charles Pickney. It begins: "The United States of America/ To whom all these letters patent shall come: Whereas Allan Pollack and Jacob Perkins, citizens of the United States, have alleged that they have invented a new and useful improvement in the fire engine..." The patent aimed to improve the engine's valve construction.
