Shortly after 5:30 PM Saturday evening, Santa Barbara County Fire responded to reports of multiple people trapped on the beach. Upon arrival the first engine found 3 victims, 2 female and 1 male, trapped on the beach by rising tide and surf. Unable to make it back to the stairwell, the fire department opted for a rope rescue. A hole was cut in a fence and two rescue personnel rappelled approximately 75ft down to rescue the victims. The rescue took over an hour as the surf continued to slam against victims and rescuers. Three engines, a truck and a water rescue team responded to the scene. All three victims sustained only minor injuries.

1992 95ft midmount Sutphen tower ladder, 1500 gpm pump, 250 gallons h2o. Truck 6 responds from Station 6 and covers the west half of the City. Soon to be replaced by a 2009 Pierce Quantum midmount tower .
Although sold and produced by Motormax in the early Millenium, this Hino Ranger based fire engine was originally sold as a Zylmex product. On top of that, the casting itself appears to be a Tomica copy. Part of a 5 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
