Finally I found the time to take Zeiss outdoor. Nothing big - just small walk with my dog... Did you try focusing manually with crazy doggy on leash? :)))
This is an entry into the JRC in the Explorer Outpost category:
FINALLY ALONE
Never one who enjoyed being around sailors all day, The Royal Explorer was glad when his ship ran aground on a large island miles away from his destination. He will wait rescue, but is not holding his breath.
Enjoy!
Finally this lonely goldfish paused long enough for me to snap this shot. Again I found out the hard way that shooting moving/animate objects with a macro lens is not easy I had to back off the zoom a bit because I wanted to capture the fish in full.
Finally I am making something everyone can afford! The cutest hair pins available (at least I think so LOL)
Finally, the wait is over!! Atlast, New Guwahati painted its one and only JUMBO WDM2B 17813 to its own NGC livery. It was actually an ex-Ludhiana.
Captain Minard returns from her third tour in Iraq to a large warm welcome from her friends and family at the Fresno Airport.
After a largely frustrating day sun-wise as well as train-wise, the sun dropped under some storm clouds as the LM (Laurel-Missoula) drifted to a stop at Townsend for a meet with an eastbound.
This train is often powered by a pair of ACe's, so the SD45's trailing were a nice treat.
That woodchip car first out is definitely loaded to capacity!
Finally had the weekend off,,,, picked up the needles again....
These are made in pure wool ♥ and will fit Pure Nemo, Licca and standard bodies...
Another on the needles now :)))
How I missed this ;)

Finally some weeks after x-mas I got my new toy, a Fuji S5.
I am still playing with it so currently I do not have any serious pictures I have to upload. I only can say...the S5 rocks......!!!! :))
and Isaac loves it!
(special Isaac photo for our fans)
Shot this morning just before I went to work.
Thank you for your patience. I haven't made any good pictures for a while but I think this qualifies as a favorite for me. I hope it is for our fans too.
If you go far back enough in my profile, you will see that I've been on a mission as long as I've had this camera to get a good picture of a cardinal. After 5 or 6 years, I think I finally got it!
I have been trying to get a decent shot of a young Orangutan ever since i first started animal photography - and finally at Dublin Zoo on Monday it happened - this little girl was fabulous - we watched her for hours - and i am so pleased with this image - a definate favourite - hope you like it too ?
Here are those hazy, crazy, lazy days of summer ......
Asked my daughter to "swing" on this photo :o)
In the onsens it is always forbidden to bring cameras or take pictures, but to me, two rules apply:
1-All these places I visit are one timers. I'm not likely to see any of those faces again.
2-I am a foreigner, I'm not supposed to be able to read japanese signs. Or know the etiquette.
Of course I know it, and I try to be as discreet as possible, and not take any pictures of anyone else except the people I'm with...fair enough?
I went hiking today.. it's so good to have finished with all the exams.. hope the results are okay... I'll see tomorrow..

Sorry for the awful lighting... basement bedroom during Canadian winter lol... This is my amazing snuggle quilt from Teri (craktpot) that she made for me for my birthday! It keeps me warm when I am on the computer or sewing :)
a male Magnolia Warbler
I am working as a volunteer with the Toronto Birding Observatory a non profit organization that bands birds to help study migration patterns and the health of the general bird population.
I took a week off earlier to help because this is warbler season. We didn't catch a single warbler during my week off.....heard and saw them all around us but none in the net. Yesterday I was at the nets for eight hours and all we caught was a pair of white throated sparrows.
Today two hours in very near freezing and we caught this fellow, (we cheered :-) a pair of American Redstarts, an Ovenbird, a nuthatch and a chickadee.
Happy happy banders :)
