Finally got the dryer fixed after having it out for over a week. 11 loads done today and more to do tomorrow.

I saw her last night on eBay, and had to buy her! I'm so excited I found her for a decent price!

One of the last shorebirds for me to see out west, I've tried several times and struck out. I was a the Cliff House in San Francisco looking across the water at the rocks when I caught movement in the shadows just below me. Crappy light but it took me only a few seconds to realize I had FINALLY seen my first Wandering Tattler.

There might be 3 feet of snow on the ground, but the pussy willows tell me spring has finally reached interior Alaska.

After years (5, maybe?) of internet friendship, I finally got to meet 'Moving Hands' Jennifer in person. Wish we had had more time to visit. Next time!

my sister's Chrysler minivan blew a third transmisison. I talked her out of spending $2700 on a worn out van with 200k on it and no working AC, manual windows and locks, rust.. for only a couple hundred dollars more I found her this 99 Volvo XC 70 with only 139k, 5 cylinder turbo (yay!) It only need tires and to fix some loose trim inside, otherwise it's loaded and has all the options. I'm jealous though I still prefer the Mark VIII for my own needs. But I seriously considered one of these when I was shopping

after a very long day...it's nice to come home to PC and clouds.

I had finally found a Kansas City Terminal train and it only took three weeks to do it! I was beeboppin' around looking and finding all these new places that I bookmarked in my mind for when I visit again to finish up my engineer training and I passed Adams St interlocking and there was a transfer waiting for a sig at Adams St. UP wasn't letting them move anytime soon and so I never got to see them in the light. I'll settle for the shaded shot.

The first sign of spring...finally!

My mom finally got to slice into her intensely rich and decadent French Vanilla Butter Cake with Raspberry Filling Vanilla Buttercream Frosting and Bittersweet Ganache. I like that the layers of filling are just as thick as the layers of cake!

Finally flying cars.

After all the snow that fell while I was up in Rochester, on the way out of town, it finally fell in the form of these pretty flakes instead of little tiny balls. This was shot through the car windows.

I took my kayak out yesterday for the first time in a few years! For various reasons I just never got it out of the basement. That changed yesterday. My niece took me to the Delaware & we paddled down about 6 miles. It was great!! I've never used a camera dry pack before.... that's what that flashy thing is from.

I saw two monarchs on the swamp milkweed today! I was beginning to think there would not be any here this year.

it was chilly today. ok, nowhere near cold enough for a coat and hat, but still, i think summer is over.

So, this morning, knowing the hummer's schedule, I sat on the porch waiting for her to show up. And what a good bird she is! She appeared like magic, and I was ready for her. She seems to like the Black and Blue Salvia!
