Greenbank, Washington
Just south of Coupeville, Greenbank Farm features walkable fields, forests and wetlands adjacent to the popular shops, places to eat and art galleries. Greenbank Farm is a hotspot of events, bird watching, hiking, and more.
Greenbank is an community on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. Greenbank, which was named by Calvin Philips after his homestead in Delaware, has a population around 250.
It is the location of the Greenbank Farm, once the largest loganberry farm in the world, and the Greenbank store, which was once owned and run by the Coupe family, descendants of Captain Thomas Coupe, founder of Coupeville and is now run by new owners unrelated to the Coupe family.
Opening in 1904, the Greenbank store features a deli, access to the post office, a small grocery store, as well as a full service restaurant upstairs. Greenbank Farm with its historic 1904 barn is the location of Whidbey Pies, a Wine Tasting & Shop, Greenbank Cheese, Rob Schouten Gallery,
Artworks Gallery, and Raven Rocks Gallery & Gifts. Whidbey Camano Land Trust has its headquarters in Barn C. The farm was saved from development when the Port of Coupeville agreed to purchase the 151 acre property and take on a 20 year bond payment in 1997.

Australian musician and actor Michael Hutchence (1960-1997) was a founding member, lead singer and lyricist of rock band INXS from 1977 until his death in November 1997. He acted in feature films, including Dogs in Space (1986), Frankenstein Unbound (1990) and Limp (1997). Hutchence exuded an overtly sexual, macho cool with his flowing locks, and lithe and exuberant stage movements. Hutchence's relationship with UK television presenter Paula Yates began while she was married to musician and Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof. Geldof and Yates divorced in 1996. During July of the same year, Hutchence and Yates had a daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily. On the morning of 22 November 1997, Hutchence was found dead in his hotel room in Sydney. His death was reported by the New South Wales Coroner to be the result of suicide. In 2000, Yates died of a heroin overdose. The couple's daughter was placed in Geldof's custody with her half-sisters.

This scene with Federal Police officers looked worth capturing because it showed another aspect of the police work during the ceremony. Also, his facial features were hidden by the optics. Finally, being able to include the Bundespolizei logo on the van door was an added bonus. I did have a bit of bad feeling because the issue of portraying people on the street and especially policemen is a bit touchy.
While I changed lenses, another officer walked over to me and I got the expected "Good evening, Federal Police" greeting. "I saw you taking pictures of my and my colleagues with a rather long lens?", he continued. I answered in the affirmative and was inwardly getting ready to make my stand and fight (metaphorically) for civil liberties and photographer's rights. "Could I please take a look at your last two exposures?" Well, no harm done, I thought and complied, wondering what would happen next. Would he try to seize the storage card? Would he try to order me to delete the images? I'd have been ready for that, but he he went off on a tangent and his next statement came out of the left field.
After I showed him two images he simply stated: "I notice that you have taken a picture of me and I wish to inform you that I hereby exercise my right to control dissemination of that picture. I do not wish to have it published or uploaded to the internet". While I was thinking about how to reply to that, he just followed up with a "Have a nice evening" and headed back to the van.
Well, this officer certainly knew that I was perfectly within my rights to take that picture (nothing illegal about portraiture on public land), but he also knew that there is a reason why we have model releases, too.
Technically, I obeyed his wishes. The image you see here was not one that he complained about, he never saw it. The main difference to the shots he did review is that in this image, noone is recognizable. Apart from that there is no clear guidance to be found about this case in the law. I could argument that the introductory text to this set is a journalistic text and if an image is used specifically in that context, a model release is not required. I am sure that the police deployment as a whole is newsworthy and my other pictures show that it was my intention to document it. Another interesting point is that is questionable if a police officer on duty can even claim the right to his own image ("Recht am eigenen Bildnis") and the picture in question is rather closely related to official duty. Furthermore, the image is not used in a demeaning way.
The Merdarë crossing point features a sustainable urban drainage system, which uses gravel and the earth’s natural filtering qualities to remove oil and other byproducts that can spill onto the road from stationary vehicles. Once filtered, the drainage is naturally collected in a specially designed settlement pond which contains plants and filtered water that is so clean it has already attracted wildlife to its pondside.

Situated at Merdarë, Bërnjak and Mutivodë in Kosovo, the crossing points are being hosted and reconstructed in partnership with the government of Kosovo and the European Union Office in Kosovo. UNOPS is responsible for the design, construction, procurement and financial management activities for the facilities at each location. This includes the installation and relocation of essential infrastructure, including traffic infrastructure and bridges.
The facilities have been designed to meet European standards for integrated border management. The modern infrastructure will help facilitate institutional, operational and procedural reforms – facilitating free trade and the movement of goods and people. Upon completion, the three crossing point facilities will house 200 officers helping more than 1.5 million people safely cross between Kosovo and Serbia every year – more than 4,000 citizens on average every day.

Red Rock Canyon State Park features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converge with the El Paso Range. Each tributary canyon is unique, with dramatic shapes and vivid colors.
Historically, the area was once home to the Kawaiisu Indians, who left petroglyphs in the El Paso mountains and other evidence of their inhabitation. The spectacular gash situated at the western edge of the El Paso mountain range was on the Native American trade route for thousands of years. During the early 1870s, the colorful rock formations in the park served as landmarks for 20-mule team freight wagons that stopped for water. About 1850, it was used by the footsore survivors of the famous Death Valley trek including members of the Arcane and Bennett families along with some of the Illinois Jayhawkers. The park now protects significant paleontology sites and the remains of 1890s-era mining operations, and has been the site for a number of movies.
After wet winters, the park's floral displays are stunning. The beauty of the desert, combined with the geologic features make this park a camper's favorite destination. Wildlife you may encounter includes roadrunners, hawks, lizards, mice and squirrels.

A number of recently uncovered archaeological features have been incorporated into the paths through the park including stone setts of a former laneway that ran through the area called Keysers Lane, medieval cobbles and some Georgian-era paving tiles. The park has also been well planted and now includes a number of interactive sound-based installations for children, as well as a new memorial water feature, recalling the children who lost their lives in the events of Easter 1916. The park is also lit at night.
About two months ago I visited this park with a friend who has a negative view of life and everything associated with life and he totally disliked the park complaining that it was fake and not a true representation of the real Dublin. I totally disagreed with him and I was a bit surprised by his claim that the park was created as recently as the 1980s and that it was always a magnet for anti-social activity.
It turns out that my friend is correct about it being a new park but in my opinion that is not important as the area features some of the city’s oldest surviving structures including the most substantial section of the 12th century city walls and the atmospheric St Audoen’s Gate, and the medieval parish church of St Audoen – Dublin’s oldest church in continuous use.
Unfortunately he is, in general, correct about anti-social activity because many parks in the city had been closed to the public for extended periods as the City Council was unwilling to deal with the problems as they arose. However, to be fair, they do appear to have adopted a different approach recently - a few years ago they re-opened the Croppies' Acre and that project has been a success. A few months ago they re-opened the Peace Park on Nicholas Street across the road from Christ Church Cathedral and in March of this year the remodelled St Audoen’s Park at High Street was officially unveiled by Lord Mayor of Dublin Cllr Nial Ring at a ceremony on 14th March.

Students from LaRue County High School Drama will present An Evening of Culture, written by Mark Landon Smith, March 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., and on March 11 at 1 p.m.
Set in the rural, fictional town of Mineola, the comedic play features a cast of eccentric characters who are mounting a disastrous production of Romeo and Juliet. Opening night jitters are the least of their worries: Romeo can't remember his lines, Juliet is a scene-stealing diva, a misbehaving dog keeps barking offstage, and the set is an unfinished safety hazard! The show also features Shakespearean puns as well as "additional dialogue" provided by two madcap Mineola residents determined to advance their own interests before the final curtain falls. The play is appropriate for audiences of all ages.

I have been to Mini Siam many times now. I love this venue set in over 46,000 square metres of landscaped gardens. They have two zones Mini Siam which features Thai landmarks and Mini Europe. It says mini Europe but it features models of landmarks from all over the world. The address for this venue is 387 Moo 6, Sukhumvit rd, Pattaya City Naklua, Bang Lamung, Chonburi, 20150. Construction began in 1986, but it began as a research project the previous year. The Democracy Monument in Bangkok was the first model to be built. Admission is Thais: 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children, Foreigners: 250 Baht for adults and 120 Baht for children. Many web writers on the Internet condemn this practice of double charging, one price for Thai people another price for a Foreigner, usually more.
However think of this, Thai people don’t earn the same kind of money foreign people earn. So being Thai they reduce the price to help them or because they are simply Thai and in their own country, so what is wrong with that. I know it perhaps does not happen around the world, but you really have to get used to it and not let it annoy you. The opening hours for Mini Siam is Daily from 07.00 am. – 10.00 pm. At night time the many models, over 100, are now lit up. You can play Gulliver on his travels, for hours visiting here as you tower over the models which are built to a scale of 1:25.
After you have enjoyed the Mini Siam, next to the attraction is a Go Kart track for those that enjoy a spot of racing. In the model area are food sellers and a restaurant. At the far side of the Gardens is a small lake with a grotto walk through footpath. At this small lake you can feed very hungry fish that fight for the pellets that you buy and then feed them. The models themselves have a beautiful style, finish and look to them while others now are looking a little tired. I have no doubt this will change through the passage of time.

Wat Phra Kaeo or The Grand Palace, along with the Emerald Buddha, in Phra Nakhon district in Bangkok. The real palace was begun in 1782 and consists of several buildings with highly decorated architectural details. This is one of the most visited sights in Bangkok.
Phanom Rung Historical park in Buriram. The real one Phanom Rung, to give it its full name, Prasat Hin Phanom Rung or another spelling, Prasat Phnom Rong is a Khmer temple complex set on the rim of an extinct volcano at 1,320 feet above sea level, in Buriram province in the Issan region of Thailand. It was built in sandstone and laterite in the 10th to 13th centuries. It was a Hindu shrine dedicated to Shiva, and symbolises Mount Kailash, his heavenly dwelling. The beauty of the main Prang lies not only in its structure, but in the vibrant stone carvings which cover large parts of the temple.
Wat Arun or The Temple of Dawn, the real one is sighted on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, on the Thonburi side of the river. Wat Arun can be reached either by Arun Amarin road or by crossing the river by boat from Tha Tien Pier, near the temple Wat Pho. The most attractive structure in this temple is the 250 foot high pagoda ( about 76 metres ) or Phra Prang. Wat Arun was restored during the brief Thonburi period to be the Royal Chapel of King Taksin.
Phra Thinang Aisawan Thiphya, Ayutthaya, the real one being a Thai style pavilion with four porches and a spired roof built by King Chulalongkorn in 1876. It is a copy of the Phra Thinang Aphonphimok Prasat in the Grand Palace, which was built by his father, King Mongkut, King Chulalongkorn named this building Aisawan Thiphya Art after King Prasat Thong's original pavilion.
Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in Bangkok, Dusit district. This building is beautiful to see for the first time and the dome of the throne hall houses picturesque frescoes of royal occasions during the reigns of King Rama I through to King Rama VI. It now serves as a museum and is from time to time employed for certain state occasions. The Throne Hall is a two storey construction with a large dome ( 49.5 metres. high ) in the centre, surrounded by six smaller domes.
Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai covers the ruins of Sukhothai, which literally means Dawn of Happiness, the capital of the Sukhothai kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries, in what is now the north of Thailand. The city walls form a rectangle about 2 km east-west by 1.6 km north south. There are 193 ruins on 70 square kilometres of land. There is a gate in the centre of each wall, inside are the remains of the royal palace and twenty six temples, the largest being Wat Mahathat. The park is maintained by the Fine Arts Department of Thailand with the help from UNESCO, which has declared it a World Heritage Site.
Ayutthaya historical park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand. The city of Ayutthaya was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350 and was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. This was originally built by King U-Thong. In 1969 the Fine Arts Department began with renovations of the ruins, which became more serious after it was declared a historical park in 1976. A part of the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

The Mesa Pattern by Dansk was Manufactured in the late Eighties and discontinued in 1990. Several South Western inspired colors were offered; Turquoise, Blue and Mint Green, but I think the Black colorway is by far the most stunning of them all... and the most collectible.
The Annual Masters Historic Festival returned to Brands Hatch for another Year of Amazing and Superb Racing Featuring The LolaT70mk3b's
Ferrari 512M and Historic Formula 1 Championship along with many other familiar faces, the Weekend was shaping up to be another Cracking one for the History Books, With each Driver ready to Take on the Twists and Turns of the Grand Prix Circuit. With Qualifying Underway it was time to see what the Drivers could do.
Equip Libre-Qualifying
The Equip Libre Racing series shows off some of the best sports cars of the 60's and 70's and features a wide range of different classes battling it out for Victory.
After a very Fierce Qualifying Session it was (Alison C and Thompson P) in their Cobra Shelby America who took First Place with a lap time of (1:48.219)
Second place went the way of (Tom Smith) in his MGB with a Lap time of 1:52.849)
Finally in Third Place was (Tucker Lar/Tucker Lau) in their Ford Shelby Mustang GTR350 with a Lap time of 1:52.915.
A Fantastic Qualifying session for the top three and lots to look forward to in their first Race of the Weekend.
Gentlemen Drivers-Qualifying
The Gentlemen Drivers series made an Exciting return to Brands Hatch for the Masters Festival showcasing cars from a time where many Gentlemen Alike Drove with Spirit and the Determination to both enjoy themselves and be competitive on the Race Track. Many cars such as Cobras TVR'S and Jaguars were amongst the Field.
In First Place was (Oliver Bryant) in his AC Cobra with a very fast Lap time of 1:42.589 showcasing some incredible driving skill and determination behind the wheel.
In Second Place was (Mike Whitaker) in his TVR Griffith with a lap time of 1:42.616 Pushing his TVR Griffith to the limit in terms of Traction and Speed.
In Third Place was (Thomas J/Lockie C) with their Beautiful Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe with a lap time of 1:42.687, Even the Great Carol Shelby would have been Impressed with that run.
Another Amazing Session of Qualifying showing just how close to top three Drivers are and this should make for some amazing Racing come Race Day.
Masters Endurance Legends-Qualifying
The Masters Endurance Legends made its Rare Appearance at Brands Hatch having not been back to the circuit since 2017 and showcased some Amazing and Impressive Machinery from the days of Le Mans. Such cars out there were the Aston Martin DBR9 ORECA 03 LMP2 and The Lola Judd B12/60. The Cars were Ready to Take on the Grand Prix circuit with the crowds waiting in anticipation to see who would emerge Victorious in Qualifying.
In First Place with an Immense Lap time of 1:23.007 was the Lola-Judd B12/60 of (Steve Tandy) Eric Broadly would have loved to have seen that.
In Second Place was (Shaun Lynn) in his BR01 with an Equally Impressive lap time of 1:23.647 Following Closely behind that Of Steve Tandy.
In Third Place was (Mark Higson) with his Oreca 03 LMP2 setting a lap time of 1:24.661
A Fast time for the Oreca around the Grand Prix Circuit.
All Three Drivers were looking very close to each other indeed but out of the three who would be the one to take Victory Come Race Day. Only time will tell.
Masters Historic Formula One-Qualifying
The Historic Formula One Cars were to make their Annual Appearance at Brands Hatch and with them came some of the most Iconic and Intense Looking Racing Machines from the James Hunt Emerson Fitipauldi and Jody Shecker Era of Racing. With Tough Competition Things looked to be Getting Heated in this Qualifying Session.
In First Place was (Steve Hartley with his McLaren MP4/1 Onced Raced By James Hunt with a lap time of 1:21.829 A Lap that Even James Hunt would have said "Hess Got Big Balls That Bloke"
In Second Place was (Warren Briggs) in his McLaren M29 with a lap time of 1:24.789 Another Driver with some very Big Balls Indeed.
In Third Place was (Lucas Halusa) in his McLaren M23 with a lap time of 1:24.818 Another Superb Drive Indeed.
With Qualifying Over it was time to see which Driver would be able to take the Victory on Race Day and which Driver would falter and Potentially Miss the Margin. Lets Just Hope No James Hunt Style First Fights In The Pits.

Historic Sports Cars Harp back to the Early Days of Sports Prototypes at Le Mans and even in the Lower GT Series. Featuring Many Great Cars such as the Chevron B19 and LolaT70mk3b. With Qualifying Underway Lets See what The Drivers Get Up to.
In First Place was (Gary Pearson and Alex Brundle) in their Lola T70MK3B with a lap time of 1:29.464 Eric Would Be Proud of That One.
In Second Place was (Tom Bradshaw) in his Chevron B19 with a lap time of 1.29.645 A Fitting Tribute to Chevron and their Love of Speed and Reliability.
In Third Place was (Jonathan Mitchell in his Chevron B19 with a lap time of 1:31.100 Some fine turning maybe needed but anything can happen come Race day.
A Beautiful and Fantastic Set of Cars seen and a Real Delight to see a T70MK3B on the front row for the Start of the Race but will Lola and Broadly Prevail or will Chevrons B19's Put up the Fight?
Masters Pre 66 Touring Cars-Qualifying
The Masters Pre 66 Touring Cars were up next and the Cars from this Era we used for what become the modern BTCC that we known of today and this Era is all about the start and how Touring Car style Racing came about. The Ford Mustang Lotus Cortina and Morris Mini Cooper S were just a few cars ahead of a very packed Grid for Qualifying.
In First Place was (Soper S and Mann H) in their Ford Mustang with a lap time of 1:46.506 Ford Of American would have Loved to have seen a Lap of Brands Like That.
In Second Place was (Fenn R and Hill J) with their Ford Mustang with a lap time of 1:47.022 Another Victory for Ford Of America.
In Third Place was (Thomas J and Lockie C) with their Ford Falcon with a lap time of 1:47.724
It looks like its a Ford 1 2 and 3 on the Front Row and the Ford Powered cars have beaten the likes of Austin Mini and Studebaker in the process. Looking forward to the Race its going to be a good one.
Pre 66 Mini's-Qualifying
The Mini's were back at Brands Hatch for another Year with the Masters Festival and on Display were some very well prepared and Race ready Mini's from the later range of Cooper S Variety Although out of the whole field one of them stood out and that was (Mark Burnett) with his Austin Mini Countryman which made for a really entertaining Qualifying Session with the other Coopers.
In First Place was (Jeff Smith) In his Austin Mini Cooper S with a lap time of 1:49.179 Alec Issigonis would have been very proud of that lap.
In Second Place was (Nathen Heathcote) in his Austin Mini Cooper S with a lap time of 1:49.883 Another very impressive lap time on the Grand Prix Circuit.
In Third Place was (Ian Curley) in his Austin Mini Cooper S with a lap time of 1:50.210 All three Drivers very close to Pole Position.
Fantastic to see the Pre 66 Mini's back at Brands and to all other Competitors as well. Looking forward to Race Day where we will definitely see some impressive Machinery Battling it out for a Victory. See you all then.
