This morning I took my parents to one of my favourite thrift stores. My Mum picked this up and showed it to me. I'd picked it up and looked at it last Monday...but didn't buy it because there was no price tag.

I took it to the checkout and was only charged 25¢. :)

Here is the finished product.

This jumping spider lives in one of our overgrown flowerbeds. Best viewed large.

Saw this eye catching little at a riverside, but have no idea what kind of damselfly is it....

Saw it at the late afternoon in forest area. Its activities level seems getting lower and allowing me for a big close-up. :D

best viewed LARGE - Twin shot there. Same grass, just another grasshopper.

During an outing to Wonder Island Johann and Tammy studied a variety of crabs, shrimps and others. This little guy was found by Tammy but Johann was soon spotting many more of them right at the edges of the shallow seaweed clumps. This is the only one we tried to catch. (He was released back to his original spot not long after this was snapped)

"Little bird! O little bird!

I wonder at what thou doest,

Thou singing merry far from me,

I in sadness all alone!

Little bird! O little bird!

I wonder at how thou art

Thou high on the tips of branching boughs,

I on the ground a-creeping!

Little bird! O little bird!

Thou art music far away,

Like the tender croon of the mother loved

In the kindly sleep of death"

A Celtic poem

Salticus scenicus or Zebra Spider.

Antenna Man is apparently a superhero bug that constantly protects the cannas in our garden....

I think you will concur that he's definitely standing guard in this image....

Saw this little on a flower, bug of some butterfly? Very hairy with big eyes.

Some local, um wildlife at the event.

Thing poor thing did not have the high ground. Looks like it lost it's back leg in a fight.

I placed the central focus on the colroed body. I let the legs fade out.

One of my fav macro's.
