Another dragonfly. This dragon was perched on top of my bird feeder frame. He was there for quite a while - perhaps resting up for his evening hunt.
Best viewed at the larger size. Slightly cropped for better framing.

Still playing around with my new macro lens, trying to figure out sensible aperture values for short distances.
Canon EF-S 60mm 1:2.8 Macro USM
The color is the first eye-catching point.
Then, found also an interesting button at its tail, don't know what is it.....?
Dedicada a Ilia y a Frank quienes la rescataron de su PC (dejé algunas fotos ahí y me la acaban de enviar)
Different from the colorful wings, it got a simple white little body. I think it may help to escape from the attacker's eyes.
I watched the watch which I used habitually.
2:40 p.m.
I seem to have been breathed in in air space of time.
I recognized that time had begun to move to notice.
It moves in time............
I keep on practising with my camera macro lens, and at the same time I take part in The World Through My Eyes´s thread, "A single pen"
sigo probando para ver hasta donde llega el macro de mi cámara, y de paso participo en el thread de The World Through My Eyes, "A single pen"
Quite a fast moving one, losting it after taking 2 shots only....
Btw, its eye is just like a black hole and unable to see any reflection from it even looking smooth...
koekjeszakje. genomen in het restaurant waar we geluncht hebben. een mooie foto van een uitsmijter had ik bij een eerdere meetup al gemaakt ;-)
cookie wrapper. taken in the restaurant where we had lunch. i already took a nice photo of a fried egg at the last meetup so i did not have to do it this time.
There's a story here. I'd seen the remains of a web earlier in the day, so I headed out with my flashlight in search of what (I thought) was a pretty large regular old orb weaver. I found one of these instead! I was thrilled! A new spider to photograph - one that I'd never seen before!
I was happily shooting it - amazed that such a thing lived my yard. I got down on my knees and was leaning over trying to get the best angle when I felt something on my arm. I quickly realized it was a spider web, and with great trepidation, turned to look at what I'd gotten myself into. And there, less than two inches from my shoulder, was one of these monsters! I screamed, fell on the ground and proceeded to have the heebie-jeebies for quite some time. Just thinking about it now gives me chills!
I've since found several of these monsters in my yard. I think I was happier not knowing they existed.
Better viewed large - if you have a strong stomach!
Identified : Starbellied Orb weaver
