What I liked about this shot was the light and shadow across the flowing water. This is the local concrete waterfall that gets turned on during the weekends and summer "rush hour" (when folks are returning home 5p-7p). I can thank my local municipality for being judicious with my property tax dollars.

The nice thing about these waterfalls is that they drown out the sound of traffic. I can't tell you how many people I've seen driving home who stop to take a brief walk or go for a smoke (before they get home, I presume). On the weekdays, there are few people here, but it's a quiet place to stop. On the weekends, all the local photographers are out here with engaged couples taking pictures.

No real story to this one, I just came across the scene while out on a walk up the Scottish hill Beinn A' Bhuic in Scotlands Grampian Mountains.

Autumn's ending, winter's beginning

I walked around the pond in the late afternoon and surprised myself when I found a better reflection than in the early morning. The reflection of the yellow tree looks better than the "live" tree.

The weather is finally nice enough for some macro work, so I am back to my favorite extracurricular activity - photographing jumping spiders. Here is a single shot of a small male stumbling off a piece of wood.

Enjoy!
