A very dark sky stands out in stark contrast to the clean paint on WC 3004 as it arrives in Trout Lake with the Tilden empties November 2001.This was only about a month into CN ownership and operations remained largely unchanged except for the rapid disappearance of a good portion of the WC's vintage 4 axle power/SDL39's/and cowls from Upper Michigan.
This shot was taken in our backyard 6 days ago. All of the leaves in our little forest had fallen and the undergrowth had died back. This one large bush was a brilliant splash of color.
This past weekend I started my annual war on leaves by cleaning the rain gutters. They've been coming down steadily since and this weekend I'll probably be doing the same thing. This is from a few years ago. Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, Washington.

52 Weeks of Pix 2016
A broken King piece to a marble chess board we bought in Nogales, Mexico many years ago. Should have saved this beautiful set for when the kids got bigger and it might not be in pieces today.
