Yosemite National Park

On my recent road trip to Indiana on my covered bridge excursion, I found myself on many roads like this. It was quite enchanting to say the least. This scene was on the road to the Rolling Stone Covered Bridge in Putnam County, Indiana.

A drive from Little Dyke to Parsborro to West Bay, NS.

OK, so it was only falling because someone had launched it skyward.

The kids wanted to head to the beach today to play on the sea ice that's built up near the high tide line after a week of single- and low-double-digit temps (or, as they put it "to hop on icebergs.") We made a trip to West Island in Fairhaven, and also to the beach at the bottom of my in-laws' street. They actually bartered for the ride by telling me I could take pictures of them while they played, so I played along.

While we were at West Island, Thing One decided to throw a few handfuls of powdery snow into the air; I managed to grab this shot while she was horsing around.

In a way, this is a picture of my failure. The imprint of this leaf has lain here for decades. I have walked or run directly over it literally thousands of times. And this morning was the first time I saw it.

Most likely last trip with tourists in our #polar circle this season.

I liked the splash of colour amongst the conifers and lichen covered dead conifers.

One of my favorite shots from last year, a local waterfall at peak colors. Hoping for more of the same this year, but with new areas in mind.

I can't even handle how beautiful everything is right now. I'm verklempt.

An adorable fall-themed hello shaker card with @lawnfawn "Into the Woods" set.

The benefit of having lower water meant that it was a bit easier to explore more parts of the creek. I was able to cross the creek along some rocks, reaching this neat area under a large overhanging bluff. You can get here when the water is higher, by climbing down a ladder put up along the tree to the right of the falls. I've been too much of a wuss to try that before. I'd always imagined part of it would break off while I was using it, sending me and the camera into the creek or onto a pointy rock (or an unfortunate combination of both).

Falling Water Falls are about 12 feet tall, and are along Falling Water Creek. The creek flows through the scenic Ozark National Forest in Arkansas.

A stand of birch, a dazzling flash of colour captured with a slow shutter speed and sweeping motion of the camera, and a vibrant overlay from an out-of-focus shot.

Color explodes during the change of seasons.

Sign,s of Autumn are everywhere.

Love to you all, and I hope you had a great weekend! Still having a little flickr break here!

These bubbly and thumpy girls are making me fall in love with the fbl mold, though! I think I WILL have to recruit their blue cousin when she comes out!

A couple of more posts from Wisconsin. The colors are finally creeping down here as well. I'll have some local shots up soon.
