I'd waited so long for a few clouds, then just like waiting for a bus, lots arrived and were washing around my feet. There's something wonderful about waiting for clouds, you can see them coming, but don't know what shapes they'll make. I had to use a vertical format for these to emphasise them coming right at my feet. Falling down by Muse is fine.
I used a flash, off camera from right above the table. I wanted to get more shadows on the table to underline the fact, that the pins were in free fall, but I got only 2-3. Using a #macro lens at quite close distance the #DOF is limited. It was challenging to get a few pins in focus.

Most of the trees are just starting to show the early signs of change, but I was hiking yesterday and entered a glen that was full of the most richly colored ferns. They are beautiful, and made me wish I had some portrait subjects there. I made do with capturing the ferns themselves, and here's one of those shots. P.S. I had to send in several of my Tamron lenses (like this one) for a firmware update to change some quirkly Live View behavior on the new 5D Mark IV. They were back to me in just a few days, so I calibrated this lens yesterday and took it for a spin. It definitely produced a number of lovely results for me. You can see more here: bit.ly/2cwFmEX

I had so much fun with my family this past week in Bishop! Aspen trees are my absolute favorite and seeing them so colorful just makes me happy! This was one of my favorite spots we went to, the reflection was just perfect.
As far as everything else, some exciting new things coming my way! Which means crazy busy times for me haha. I have a ton more images to work on and no time to work on them :( I am also sad that I haven't much time to be on here and see all of your photos :( Hopefully soon I will be able to get back into it.

With the kids starting their first day back to school today, I thought I would post some of my Fall cookies from last year (before I joined flickr). Usuallly the beginning of school would make me itch with Fall cookie fever but not yet... we're going through a heatwave right now and the thought of turning on an oven is just not gonna happen!!
These are an assortment of Fall/ Thanksgiving cookies that I put out in an e-flyer for my regular customers (friends and family etc). I usually have a few options; minis, bigger baskets of cookies, and individual cookies.
