What is it about a fire that sends one into a trance, where thoughts and feelings relax and intermingle to sort each other out?

poem by Bev - thank you !
lost in a fairytale wood and mist
she ran gently, did not wish to miss
the sun as it rose into the sky
she knew it would come bye and bye
out all night dancing she then fell asleep
failing to notice that the stars did peep
watching carefully as she slept so deep
now the birds singing awakened her too
morning mists and on leaves the dew
damp and dishevelled she went on her way
wondering just what everyone would say
Acrylic on canvas
This was painted during a workshop with Marianne Broome. I am gradually getting the hang of acrylics and at times quite enjoy their properties. Still a long way to go, however, but I really enjoyed the workshop.
Since this one's been such a big hit I've posted another from the pumpkin seed set here: www.flickr.com/photos/tommartinart/1456485798/
