Faded Coke murals seem to be a big thing lately. I have one from Fayetteville in my stream. (At least I thought I did; I couln't find it in a quick search.) I've also seen them on the streams of more than one of my contacts as well as other random Flickr photostreams. I think it's just one of those social phenomena where we all notice the same thing at the same time.

Is the fading of this sign symbolic for the fading economy right now? God I hope not, but I NEVER thought I'd see the day the Canadian Dollar is worth more than the American.

I was married for a while, but haven't been for even longer. I am unsure I will ever marry again, but I keep my options open.
I think I was just too young to know who to pick and hopefully, the next guy will be a keeper.
No regrets.
In the last bit of sunlight of the day Cross Country Trains 43384 passes Tapton, Chesterfield with the 1E63 - Plymouth to Leeds service on Tuesday the 9th of June 2015.
Inspired by childhood photographs recently sent to me by my mother. These paintings are loose and fragmented like my memories. 5x5 Oil on paper.
Skipped a few days of my challenge due to being overwhelmed with crap that needed to be done.
Note: Don't usually do these types of pictures with the faded color or with just a splash of one color since I think it looks rather bad. But this is what was requested, so here you are.
Landschaftspark is a public park located in Duisburg Nord, Germany. It was designed in 1991 by Latz + Partner (Peter Latz), with the intention that it work to heal and understand the industrial past, rather than trying to reject it.
I tried some Gimp manipulations: equalize colors, cartoon filter and softglow filter
Browsing the best ideas for the high top fade haircut? Well, you don’t have to dig deeper anymore. I have taken the trouble of doing the research to save you time and help you achieve the looks of your dream. This hairstyle comes in many different forms to select from. Below I have...
This is the result of an idea that popped into my head when I looked at this photo. I thought it would look interesting if the colours faded into black/white in the distance. I think it works pretty well, but maybe the car is front is so red it steals all the attention..
HAMLET NC: At the site of the rebuilt depot. These fading icons that are part of the National Museum. I was shocked to learn that the caboose was built in my hometown of Clifton NJ.
A bigger shock was to learn that rail cars were built in Clifton. Of course the year, 1924, was long ago and the manufacturer, Magor Car Corporation, has long ceased operations.
Magor built all kinds of “industrial” cars: cane cars, dump cars, flat cars, and logging cars for both the domestic market and a thriving export business. The company was also an export agent for locomotives built by the H. K. Porter Company of Pittsburgh, one of several American manufacturers specializing in export equipment ranging from light, functional cars to portable track.
The body of the 5241 was wood, originally. Wood was desirable because of its availability, price, and ease of use in construction. Eventually, the car was rebuilt with a steel body.
Faded headstones and broken statues tell the story of people who lived in the late 1800s, before time takes the last of their memories away.
I saved this picture because it is early color Kodachrome Print - it faded to a pinkish hue. It says, on the Back: This is a Kodacolor Print Made By Kodak, Week of June 14 - 58 RL"
I don't know why the colors in this one came out so weird and faded. But I kind of like it. It reminds me of an old postcard.

This weeks song is The Memory Remains, by Metallica.
Like twisted vines that grow
Hide and swallow mansions whole
And dim the light of an already faded prima donna
Fortune, fame, mirror vain, gone insane
Fortune, fame, mirror vain, gone insane
But the memory remains
I've been going through my archives, and found this image from way back when, and thought it fit the lyrics, so I hope you think so too! I really like Metallica, although I do find them too intense to listen to for very long. I saw them in concert, back in the 90's...they were awesome!

The Memory Remains: by Metallica
Went up to see my buddy Clint Ewing. Told him I wanted to do some light painting, he just looked at me funny. Then I started light painting and he called me crazy and looked at me funny again. Then he said "let me try"
For those that remember my Christmas amaryllis...this is the last of the flowers as they faded and fell over the other day...was on my way to the composte bucket but then saw the crushed faded details so needless to say...they went on the window sill waiting for their last horrah! With todays 20cm and more of snow...played with these faded beauties in front of the window with the snow as a background for a high key look...
Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further, every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly loss, this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feelEmptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness, taking dawn
I was me, but now he's gone
No one but me
Can save myself, but it's too late
Now I can't think
Think why I should even try
Yesterday seems
As though it never existed
Death greets me warm
Now I will just say goodbye
Goodbye... Metallica
