“We are nothing but shadows

Fading away

Trying to hold on to

This bittersweet life

That we call our own...”

You were the shadow to my light

Did you feel us?

Another star

You fade away

Afraid our aim is out of sight

Wanna see us

Alight

Where are you now?

Was it all in my fantasy?

Where are you now?

Were you only imaginary?

;) I hope you`re all fine, dear Flickr friends!

Have a good start into the new week!

During a zodiac outing, the weathering sculptured effects on a tabular iceberg in Pleneau Strait could be observed up close. I saw a shot of this iceberg from a number of years ago and it was truly spectacular with an arch and window. Although still impressive, it is now a shadow of its former self.

As climate change evolves more massive tabular icebergs are calved from the ice shelf in Antarctica. For how much longer will we be able to admire the beauty of nature's creation?

I wanna hold the hand inside you

I wanna take the breath that's true

I look to you and I see nothing

I look to you to see the truth

You live your life, you go in shadows

You'll come apart and you'll go black

Some kind of night into your darkness

Colors your eyes with what's not there

Fade into you

Strange you never knew

Fade into you

I think it's strange you never knew

A stranger's light comes on slowly

A stranger's heart is out of home

You put your hands into your head

A million smiles cover your heart

Fade into you

Strange you never knew

Fade into you

I think it's strange you never knew

Fade into you

Strange you never knew

Fade into you

I think it's strange you never knew

I think it's strange you never knew

I think it's strange you never knew

The Aulne monastery (Abbaye d'Aulne) was once a Benedictine and then a Cistercian monastery - and now it is mostly in ruins. It was founded already in 637 and came under Cistercian rule in 1147. The monastery had many ups and downs, with its last golden era in the 18th century. But the monastery was sacked by French revolutionaries in 1794 and turned to ruins.

A lovely farmhouse along a rural road....

Passion is the quickest to develop, and the quickest to fade. Intimacy develops more slowly, and commitment more gradually still.

Taken with my left hand which as I am right handed, is more difficult than it sounds :-)

At least I'm back clicking again, albeit slowly.

Caught this the other evening as the light was fading fast... Have a great weekend!

... but don't worry, the glorious colours of autumn are already on their way ;-))

Macro Mondays: High Key

A slide I was given that required a large amount of restoration, but it's an interesting scene.

The only detail I have was the faded pencil on the slide mount that said February 1987, but where and what the scene is - are the destined for restoration or scrap? - is unknown.
