The paint may be faded but the flag still shows the spirit of America on the side of this Union Pacific Gevo leading a northbound freight through Folkston, GA.
Faded headstones and broken statues tell the story of people who lived in the late 1800s, before time takes the last of their memories away.
I saved this picture because it is early color Kodachrome Print - it faded to a pinkish hue. It says, on the Back: This is a Kodacolor Print Made By Kodak, Week of June 14 - 58 RL"
I don't know why the colors in this one came out so weird and faded. But I kind of like it. It reminds me of an old postcard.

This massive rose bush in Cottonwood, Arizona has flowers all of the bright scarlet color in the lower right. It was fascinating to see all the clusters of faded roses turning all shades of red-violet as bleached and burned by the strong Arizona sun. I know women who would buy bunches of miniature roses and hang them upside-down to age and fade, just for pretty dried roses for a bouquet display for a vase. Here the bouquets were just as sweet as when the flowers are at their brightest glory. This one is best viewed large, for there is good detail and hidden delight in the macro view.

Went up to see my buddy Clint Ewing. Told him I wanted to do some light painting, he just looked at me funny. Then I started light painting and he called me crazy and looked at me funny again. Then he said "let me try"
For those that remember my Christmas amaryllis...this is the last of the flowers as they faded and fell over the other day...was on my way to the composte bucket but then saw the crushed faded details so needless to say...they went on the window sill waiting for their last horrah! With todays 20cm and more of snow...played with these faded beauties in front of the window with the snow as a background for a high key look...
Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further, every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly loss, this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feelEmptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness, taking dawn
I was me, but now he's gone
No one but me
Can save myself, but it's too late
Now I can't think
Think why I should even try
Yesterday seems
As though it never existed
Death greets me warm
Now I will just say goodbye
Goodbye... Metallica

The summer has faded about as quickly as tonight's sunset. Most of the children around here start back to school tomorrow. It's been a longer time than I'd like to fess up to....that I've been in school. But, this time of year I still get that same feeling as I did back then even though my day to day life doesn't change a bit. Weird.....

When we are children, we dream, we create and we wonder what we will be when we grow up. When we are adults, we sometimes loose sight of our dreams and aspirations that we once had when we were small. Our dreams slip away from us and it’s heartbreaking. I got inspired to do this project when I was in the middle of applying for some colleges recently. I felt like I was growing up too fast and I missed having time just to think and create. This project was created so we can remember our lost wishes and dreams we once had

This afternoon, the sun came out so I took the opportunity to go back out into my garden and do some yardwork. While working, I couldn't help myself - had to grab the camera and take a few shots around the yard. Soon the yard will be covered with snow but I'll have my photos to remind me what a beautiful autumn it's been.
I was walking for the streets of my city (Valparaiso" and i found a gentleman selling old pictures. I bought them a few (a bargain, a few cents each one) but this is my favorite. Its faded, but you still can see her beautiful light colored eyes, her thick eyebrows and the lace of her gown. From Valparaiso, late 1900s.
