Today I went on a search for new lovely photo places... And I found this forest trail, only about 30 feet to the side of the normal open trail I take up the hillside... I really had no idea there was a trail in this little forest, I had so much fun exploring in it for an hour. I walked the whole trail, taking pictures and calling Sparky to stick with me (he was chasing squirrels), and when I was finished I walked back through the trail... And discovered it was actually really short. It took me only two minutes to walk the whole thing. Silly me... But for two minutes of walking, it sure is a lovely place!

PCA294 - Fire
Built a small fire in the backyard and then tossed in a old book I found in a dumpster. Upped the clarity and the shadows a bit. Cropped slightly. I took many shots of the book during its conversion into heat and light. I liked this one because of the way it morphed into some other entity before falling into ash.
This made it into EXPLORE on 2-22- 09!
Sometimes I take photos of flowers! I spied this beauty at Pier 39 at the waterfront coming back from the Sausalito Art Festival last year.

This is the age of designer articles. You get whatever you want in whatever design you like. How would you like to have a designer moon? When I was lying on the terrace in a moonlit night I saw this through the leaves of a coconut tree and I could see different patterns as the leaf was gently swaying in the wind. I focussed on the leaves so that the pattern is defined and kept the moon slightly diffused.

To explore new lands brings magic into your life
away from what you usually do
taking that risk to get lost in the trees
and finding yourself you never thought you would
so breathe, move your feet, go dance with the wind
go on top of mountains and feel the sea on your skin
