Theme No.2 is Water (#5)
Here's the last photo for this theme. Drop of water on a black shallow plate. I also put a white rock on the plate and let the drop of water hit its edge to create the crown splash you see on this photo. There is no water in the place that's why you don't see any ripple. PP in PS to make the water crown colorful.
So there it is. The last photo of the week. I might post another one at a later time or maybe on saturday -Multicolor water droplets which originally for Tuesday. Thanks again for visiting. Have a great weekend to everyone!

I've missed flickr! I got busy with my job and haven't been keeping up. I hope to check through everyone's streams and upload some of the gazillion photos I've taken since my last set soon.
*******
I have been waiting all year for these birds to show up. My friend told me that they come every year in mid-April when these berries come out and stay until the berries are gone. With the harsh winter, the berries came out two months later than last year. He texted me when he saw one, and I have been hanging out with them ever since.
They have very interesting social behavior. They will sit in pairs and pass the berries back and forth to each other. Apparently, according to Cornell's All about Birds (www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Cedar_Waxwing/lifehistory), this is courtship behavior:
"During courtship, males and females hop towards each other, alternating back and forth and sometimes touching their bills together. Males often pass a small item like a fruit, insect, or flower petal, to the female. After taking the fruit, the female usually hops away and then returns giving back the item to the male. They repeat this a few times until, typically, the female eats the gift."
They also have a very interesting tongue as you can see in one of the shots in my stream. They stick their tongue out to get the barb in the middle of their tongue on the other side of the berry and then pull the berry in whole. They gorge themselves.
Someone has been following this bird. Note the band on its right leg.
