Back from my mission trip. Cold. Thinking about what it means to let go. Wishing I could go back. Writing, writing writing. Or at least I should be. Still tired. But I have my blankie.
This isn't anything special, but it's special to me.

Do you see how the leaf looks like a heart? This was actually taken in a barrel of water.
We used the "Antique" setting on iPhoto, if you're wondering.

“To love. To be loved.
To never forget your own insignificance.
To never get used to the unspeakable violence
and the vulgar disparity of life around you.
To seek joy in the saddest places.
To pursue beauty to its lair.
To never simplify what is complicated
or complicate what is simple.
To respect strength, never power.
Above all, to watch.
To try and understand.
To never look away.
And never, never, to forget.”

This bokeh was caused by sparkling light created by sunlight and moving water on Kerr Lake which was the backdrop in this photo. The sun apparently was at the perfect angle, within minutes this shimmering light was gone.
Taken with a manual focus Takumar 200mm f/3.5 vintage lens.

To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your own path, and don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest.

While I love Mike Psiaki's 6-wide JP Explorer, I have a special place in my heart for 5-wide vehicles and the challenge they present. I've wanted to do this ever since I did my Jurassic Park Jeep.
