More very heavy rain and Thunderstorms are forecast for today. Miss Cheeky decided to get her Riverwalk in before that happens. As it turned out she was very adventurous this morning and did some exploring along the Mangrove track being built which leads to the Hunter River. Almost there, just a few more meters to go. Demanding work carting rocks and bricks as well as gravel to build the track.
"Teampall Nua (New Church) replaced an older chapel which was used by the Earls of Desmond. The present structure dates from 1679 – a simple rectangular building. It was endowed with a chalice and patten which bear the inscription: “The guift of the Right Honourable Rachel Countess Dowager of Bath to her chapel-of-ease Logh Guir, Ireland 1679” The famed poet harper Thomas O’Connellan who died in 1698 in Bourchiers Castle is buried here in an unmarked grave as is Owen Bresnan (1847-1912) local poet and historian who composed Teampall Nua and Sweet Lough Gur side".
NYC, Chambers Street Station in the Background
Effects using Photoshop and Topaz software.
Photoshop Elements 6: 1) Selected the skateboarder and made a new layer by copy
2) Used Filter-->Blur-->radial blur-->zoom, for background
3) Put the skateboarder layer on top of the blurred layer
Topaz Adjust: Don't remember what effects I used. but they were different for the boarder and the background, maybe "dramatic".
Woo Hoo! This photo made Explore!

365 Project: A Prompt A Day 2011
14/365
I took this photo a day late. I had this idea yesterday, but because of the snow days we had this week, my husband has been working way into the night. He normally gets off at 9ish, but to make up for the work they missed Monday and Tuesday, he's not been getting home until after 11 (he goes in around 4).

After the joust, tempers flared between the opposing groups of knights, resulting in the two sides dualing to the death. Once it was over, all who were vanquished arose and took a bow along with the victors. It's a scene from last summer's Bristol Renaissance Faire, near Kenosha, Wisconsin.

A shot I took on a storm chase last summer and finally got around to processing it...
This is Lake George, an ancient lake, believed to be more than a million years old.
Originally, small streams drained its catchment into the Yass River, but then the Lake George Escarpment rose due to major crustal movement along a strong fault line, blocking this drainage and forming the lake. Lake George has in previous Ice Ages been much larger and deeper.
Currently, the lake is dry and has been for many years... I cant imagine what it would look like full of water and life...
