The Space Needle is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and is a treasured Seattle icon. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair—the Century 21 Exposition whose theme was “The Age of Space”—the tower’s futuristic design was inspired by the idea that the fair needed a structure to symbolize humanity’s Space Age aspirations. Since its grand opening on April 21, 1962, the landmark continues to symbolize the innovative and forward-thinking spirit of Seattle. Located at Seattle Center, the Space Needle stands at 615 feet (188 Meters) tall and is one of the most photographed structures in the world.

Je suis en train de recevoir mon équipement petit à petit et je me suis rendu compte que c'était tout un art la préparation de son sac. Moi à la base j'étais naïf, je pensais qu'une tente "Quetchua 2 sec" (tu sais, celle qui t'énerve en 2 secondes quand c'est le moment de la replier) ferait l'affaire mais NON, en me renseignant j'ai vite compris que j'allais devoir passer sur du matoss semi-pro.
J'ai déjà fait des expéditions avec des potes dans des sources d'eau chaudes en montagnes, je connais un peu le délire mais cette année je compte vraiment passer un cap et du coup je voudrais partir sous les meilleurs auspices. Mon seul mot d'ordre c'est : partir le plus léger possible, juste après m'être dit ça je me suis acheté une pelle militaire chinoise multifonction de 2kilos (j'en suis juste complèment hyper mega fan, tu peux TOUT faire avec vous m'entendez, TOUT !!! Pardon ? SI je peux creuser un trou avec ? *rire sarcastique*) .
Non en vrai, j'ai pour habitude de voyager toujours léger. Quand je partais vadrouiller dans le monde je partais la plupart du temps avec juste mon sac Eastpak et mes sandales et j'achetais tout sur place. Là par contre, il est clair que ça sera pas le même délire. Du coup je me suis pris une tente semi-pro, j'en voulais une 1 place pour l'avoir la plus légère possible mais en réfléchissant c'était une connerie, y'aura forcément des gens qui finiront par m'accompagner et ça serait trop bête de s'encombrer d'une seconde tente. Je me suis commandé aussi des piquets à visser en plastique au lieu des sardines à la con, manière de gagner en poids et en efficacité.
Je suis en train de me documenter à fond histoire de voir les erreurs de débutants à ne pas commettre et les petits tips et astuces à savoir. Ma principale interrogation du moment c'est la nourriture. Je compte me préparer de la viande séchée (j'ai l'habitude d'en faire) mais gourmand comme je suis va pas falloir que je claque toutes mes vivres au bout de 30 min tout en chantonnant "Ah que c'est beau et facile la vie en randonnée ! *rote*", le même mec que vous retrouvez 2 jours plus tard à 4 pattes en train de gratter le sol pour trouver des glands. Bien sûr il faut privilégier les sucres lents et heureusement je suis assez calé niveau nutrition pour prendre ce qu'il faut.
J'ai deux compétences plutôt utiles : La première est que je ne bois que très peu, je suis un véritable chameau et la seconde c'est que je suis capable de vous faire un feu avec 3 briques et 2 parpaings. J'ai même réussi à faire un feu sous la pluie avec du bois mouillés une fois, j'ai un don cherchez pas les amis *hausse des épaules*. Mais il ne faut pas être stupide et être prévoyant.
Bref, petit à petit je suis en train de m'équiper, le challenge pour moi est d'avoir le sac le plus léger possible et aussi d'apprendre à m'orienter car avec moi c'est pas gagné-gagné. Je sens que vous allez entendre sur le FR3 régional un jour :
" Le corps d'un homme nu (je fini toujours nu dans mes histoires, ne cherchez pas pk) avec ce qui semblerait être une pelle défectueuse a été retrouvé au pied d'un chêne. Il n'aurait pas réussi à faire un feu par temps sec et serait visiblement mort de déshydratation. Il n'aurait pas non plus réussi à monter sa tente, si seulement il avait pris une Quechua 2 secondes. La Fédération française de bivouac met en garde contre les débutants qui se lanceraient dans la randonnée sans aucune compétence après avoir regardé 2 vidéos youtube. "
Ah oui, en fait j'aurai jamais la place pour prendre mon appareil photo. Il faut vraiment que je m'achète un smartphone pour la photo. Quoi que, j'ai vu qu'on faisait des attaches spéciales pour les appareils photos... rhaaa faut que je réfléchisse encore.

PCA294 - Fire
Built a small fire in the backyard and then tossed in a old book I found in a dumpster. Upped the clarity and the shadows a bit. Cropped slightly. I took many shots of the book during its conversion into heat and light. I liked this one because of the way it morphed into some other entity before falling into ash.
Taken today, December, 26, 2008. Bay L'Argent, NL. Explored on Dec 26, 2008 #205! :) Taken with my new camera that my boyfriend bought me for Christmas :)

Our Daily Challenge - Fruit (Best Explore positon #110)
I had another shot in mind for this challenge, well, two other shots actually. I bought all this fruit and now what...lol I'm becoming a sucker for action still lives. I know they're nothing new, but I'm working on a couple to make my own.
On another note, I have fruit, ideas, and idle time, so I'm sure I'll post some other additions to this challenge within the next couple days. AND, I promise I'll post the outtakes of the coffee as soon as I get a few seconds....
