Cueva de los Verdes, Lanzarote
This chipmunk that we found deep in the forest was hiding in plain sight. it thought by not moving it would not be found, and that nearly was the case. We could hardly see it in the light as diminished by the trees; had to turn the speed down and the iso up to photograph it. A little light came through a break in the tree tops which can be seen in the eye reflection.
Photo taken in Kent Gardens Park, McLean, Virginia.

A tribute to fellow Flickr photographers and friends.
Thank you for all the inspiration and learning. I had an amazing time over last year fiddling with photography from auto to manual mode.
And no it is not me :)

This was horribly crooked. I put it aside but now I have straightened and added in the slightest orton I really like it.
I had my tripod set up in the water, low down, but I did not want to get wet. I could not see the view finder but this is very much the shot I wanted.
(Explore in/out, 24/11/2012) droving in 42C between Barcaldine and Longreach near Ilfracombe, Queensland, Australia. It was BLOODY HOT this day believe me!!! It reminded me of those old tobacco adds - this might be interesting www.youtube.com/watch?v=26OG4F7D4gY

When you follow the Lake Agnes Trail from Lake Louise, you first pass Mirror Lake with the Big Beehive towering over it (see my previous photos), before reaching astounding Lake Agnes. What I didn't like too much were the open stairs along a rockface I had to climb just before reaching this lake - I prefer to have ground under my feet. But the view was very rewarding indeed!
