Sirocco is a warm wind from the southeast. In the maps, the wind rose was positioned within the Mediterranean and specifically between the Ionian Sea and the island of Malta. Thus the wind that came from the North-East came from Greece and took the name of Grecale. the libeccio wind from Libya.The one that came from the South-East came from Syria and took the name of Scirocco. According to some Sicilian popular beliefs, this wind was considered a harbinger of misfortune and disease. These beliefs had their roots in the distant past, when North Africa was the permanent site of outbreaks of endemic infectious diseases whose germs were transported to southern Italy by mosquitoes and midges, bad flyers but very skilled in exploiting the Sirocco air currents .

Pôle Nord de la Terre, décembre 3218
« Ce 21 décembre 3218, un premier groupe d’humains dont les ancêtres ont fuit une Terre devenue inhabitable - cette triste période l’histoire connue sous le nom de Grande Migration - se pose sur ces terres désolées et méconnaissables du Pôle Nord de la Terre. Leur mission : chercher des réponses aux interrogations suivantes : l’évolution de la Terre est-elle irréversible? La vie pourra t-elle un jour y prospérer de nouveau? Dans quelles conditions?

THALASSA - Planète océanique, refuge des humains, 3208
Chants de la Terre lointaine (The Songs of Distant Earth), un poème épique, écrit par une écrivaine du nom de Cassiopée Clarke, jusque-là inconnue, bouleverse l’âme des habitants de la planète. Ce poème réveille en eux la douleur ancestrale de la migration de leurs ancêtres, de la perte de leur planète d’origine, de leur culture, de leur histoire. L’héroïne du poème ressent cette douleur, mais aussi quelque chose de plus intime et étrange à la fois : une impossible connexion avec cette Terre lointaine - ses Chants - qui lui révèleraient que la Terre abrite encore et toujours, les vibrations uniques de la vie. Sous la pression du public, les autorités planétaires décident d’organiser une expédition de reconnaissance vers la Terre. La poétesse Clarke, est invitée à se joindre à l’équipe scientifique du vaisseau spatial Earth One.

PÔLE NORD DE LA TERRE, trois mois après l’arrivée
Le Commandant de la mission - « Madame Clarke, je suis désolé, mais notre équipe scientifique arrive à la conclusion que le cycle destructeur qui a conduit à la Grande Migration ne s’est pas inversé. Les continents qui ne sont pas inondés, sont devenus désertiques, balayés par des vents violents et brûlants. Nous estimons que 80% de la surface la planète est inhabitable par des humains. À l’exception des Pôles, l’air est irrespirable. La vie subsiste dans les profondeurs des mers nordiques, mais sous une forme très simplifiée. L’exploitation des ressources minières - ce dont nous avons réellement besoin - serait non-économique selon nos experts. Leur recommandation est de mettre fin à cette mission. Avez-vous quelque chose à ajouter, Madame? »
En guise de réponse, Madame Clarke offrit ses larmes. Il valait mieux taire son secret, cette certitude qui était maintenant sienne, que ses Chants lui avaient dit la vérité, que la vie reprendrait ses droits sur cette planète, mais qu’il était absolument vital de tenir les humains à l’écart. Elle essuya ses larmes de joie et les préparatifs du retour vers Thalassa débutèrent.

Their mission: to seek answers to the following questions: is the evolution of the Earth irreversible? Can life ever prosper again? Under what conditions?

THALASSA - Oceanic planet, refuge of humans, 3208
The Songs of Distant Earth, an epic poem, written by a writer named Cassiopeia Clarke, until then unknown, moves the souls of the inhabitants of the planet. This poem awakens in them the ancestral pain of the migration of their ancestors, of the loss of their home planet, their culture, their history. The heroine of the poem feels this pain, but also something more intimate and strange at the same time: an impossible connection with this distant Earth - her Songs - which would reveal to her that the Earth still and always shelters the unique vibrations of life. Under public pressure, the planetary authorities decide to organize a scouting expedition to Earth. Poet Clarke is invited to join the scientific team to the spacecraft Earth One.

NORTH POLE OF THE EARTH, three months after arrival
Mission Commander - "Mrs. Clarke, I'm sorry, but our science team has come to the conclusion that the destructive cycle that led to the Great Migration has not been reversed. The continents which are not flooded have become desert, swept by strong and scorching winds. We estimate that 80% of the planet's surface is uninhabitable by humans. With the exception of the Poles, the air is unbreathable. Life subsists in the depths of the northern seas, but in a very simplified form. The exploitation of mineral resources - what we really need - would be uneconomic according to our experts. Their recommendation is to end this mission. Do you have anything to add, Madame? "
In response, Mrs. Clarke offered her tears. It was better to hide her secret, this certainty that was now hers, that her Songs had told the truth, that life would take back its rights on this planet, but that it was absolutely vital to keep humans away. She wiped away her tears of joy and the preparations for the return to Thalassa began.

Le site de Kerlescan est le plus petit et le plus préservé des alignements de Carnac. Il présente des traces riches d’enseignement sur les spécificités du mégalithisme carnacois.
Ce champ de menhirs est composé de 13 files où 555 pierres se dressent. Une enceinte de 39 menhirs est située à l’extrémité ouest du site. Elle est fermée au nord par un long tertre (= monticule de pierres recouvrant une sépulture), marqué par un haut menhir de 3,7 mètres de hauteur.
Le site est daté du IVe millénaire avant notre ère. La relative petite taille du site permet de mieux en comprendre l’architecture, on peut observer le monument dans toute sa plénitude et la perspective, sans doute voulue par les bâtisseurs, avec "les petites pierres qui se situent sur le bas du terrain, et les grandes pierres sur le haut." C’est grâce à ce site que les chercheurs sont certains que les menhirs de Carnac ont été taillés sur place, tant les affleurements rocheux portent des traces de leur exploitation. Les pierres elles-mêmes portent des messages : on peut y lire toute leur histoire, avec notamment des traces d’érosion pré et post-mégalithique. Certaines des pierres montrent encore des traces de tentative de débitage ...

Omniprésente dans le paysage, sur les coteaux aux pentes raides qui montent à l’assaut des collines sous-vosgiennes, la vigne est à la fois l’écrin et le trésor de Riquewihr. Depuis toujours, c’est elle qui assure la prospérité du village. Si ses origines semblent remonter à l’époque romaine, c’est bien au Moyen Âge, grâce à la viticulture, que Riquewihr se développe. Pour protéger les exploitations intra-muros, des remparts sont érigés en 1291, date à laquelle la cité est élevée au rang de ville. Jusqu’au XVIème siècle et la Guerre de Trente Ans, l’activité connaît son âge d’or en Alsace et s’inscrit durablement dans le patrimoine de Riquewihr. Le Dolder, tour-beffroi de 25 mètres de hauteur, la Tour dite "des Voleurs" ou encore le château Renaissance des princes de Wurtemberg-Montbéliard, sont édifiés à cette période, tout comme les riches demeures de négociants, avec leurs hautes façades colorées à pans de bois et leurs balcons richement fleuris.

Hi everyone hope your all keeping well Ive missed you all so much and its feels like forever since Ive been here sorry for not being around was very unwell for a while and started having problems with my eye sight again and Just as I was getting better my mum got Ill and had to go back into Hospital again But Im pleased to say we are both fine now Ive missed flick so much and will try my best to catch up But I think its gonna be a very hard task so please forgive me If I havent visited your stream lately I will be sure to pay you regular visits from now Onwards wishing you all a wonderful week ahead xxx

The Estancia de Narbona, (Narbona’s Farm), built by Don Juan de Narbona in 1732, is an archeological relic. Its Chapel and Oratory were the only ones that existed at those times between Montevideo and Villa Soriano. They were related to the Camacho family, and they are near the Camacho Bridge, surrounded by a beautiful park.

Noisy and gregarious, these cheerful exploiters of man's rubbish and wastefulness have managed to colonise most of the world. The ultimate avian opportunist perhaps. Monitoring suggests a severe decline in the UK house sparrow population, recently estimated as dropping by 71 per cent between 1977 and 2008 with substantial declines in both rural and urban populations. While the decline in England continues, Breeding Bird Survey data indicate recent population increases in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Le site Bouchayer-Viallet s´installe à Grenoble en 1870 au moment de l´association entre les sociétés Joseph Bouchayer et Félix Viallet. Tous deux pressentent l´essor industriel et l´expansion de l´hydroélectricité avec l´exploitation des chutes d´eau. Ils produisent des appareils calorifères, de la chaudronnerie, de la charpente. Leur usine se spécialisera également dans la construction de l´équipement d´usine hydroélectrique. A la mort de Joseph Bouchayer, c´est son fils qui prend la suite. C´est à partir de 1900 que commence le transfert des installations de l´avenue de la gare jusqu´aux berges du Drac où se maintiendront les Etablissements Bouchayer-Viallet jusqu´à la fin des années 1960. C´est à ce moment-là qu´est achetée une halle sur pied attribuée aux ateliers de Gustave Eiffel pour l´Exposition Universelle de Paris, afin d´y installer l´atelier de chaudronnerie. Cette halle de 3000 m² est démontée, acheminée à Grenoble et remontée sur le nouveau terrain. Il s´agit d´un bâtiment industriel acquis à bas prix où est plaqué un pignon en maçonnerie assez plat doté de trois ouvertures en plein cintre. Depuis 1986, la halle est occupée par le Centre National d'Art Contemporain, dit le Magasin, du nom de sa dernière utilisation. Racheté par la ville de Grenoble en 1980, le site est réhabilité par Patrick Bouchain, architecte, assisté de François Braize, ingénieur-conseil. Bien que méconnu, cet espace d´exposition d´art contemporain, occupe aujourd´hui une des premières places européennes.

Village viticole typique de Bourgogne dans un paysage vallonné. Les sols sur lesquels se sont déposés les sédiments marno-argilo-calcaires des mers jurassiques (230 à 135 millions d'années). Les roches qui dominent Mercurey sont de la période du Jurassique moyen et début du Jurassique supérieur. Une couche assez épaisse de marnes grises forme le sous-sol des meilleurs crus de Mercurey (époque de l'oxfordien). Une deuxième crête rocheuse est formée par le calcaire que l'on appelle la dalle nacrée.
La localité doit son nom à la construction en ce temple élevé au dieu Mercure. Elle est implantée sur la voie romaine (via Agrippa) qui va d'Autun à Chalon, dont il ne reste que peu de traces, cachée sous du bitume. Quelques vestiges ont été découverts à Mercurey et dans ses hameaux.
L'appellation fait partie du vignoble de la côte chalonnaise. D'une superficie totale en vigne de 650 hectares, avec en répartition, 580 hectares de vins rouges et 75 hectares de vins blancs. Deux types d'AOC sont exploités, donnant 170 hectares de premier cru et 485 hectares de village.
Ce qui explose, quand explosent les censures imposées par les dirigeants, c'est un ordre moral fondé sur l'exploitation de tous. La famille, la virilité guerrière, la pudeur, toutes les valeurs traditionnelles visent à assigner chaque sexe à son rôle. Les hommes, en cadavres gratuits pour l'État, les femmes, en esclaves des hommes. Au final, tous asservis, nos sexualités confisquées, fliquées, normées. Il y a toujours une classe sociale qui a intérêt à ce que les choses restent comme elles sont, et qui ne dit pas la vérité sur ces motivations profondes.

Zona dunar en la playa de Torre de la Sal en Cabanes (Castellón), lindante con el parque natural del Prat, aun podemos decir que quedan playas virgenes, sin explotacion de edificaciones.

Once we take time and effort to look behind that label, in their eyes and posture we'll recognize the same emotions we often connect only with humans: joy, fear, happiness, sadness...
The island of Gyali. The southwestern part of the island is composed of thick layers of pumice, which are deposited there by two explosions after the formation of Nisyros. The first eruption left on shallow seas over 160 meters of thick layers of pumice, which the company LAVA Mining & Quarrying exploits since 1956. The northeastern part of the island is composed entirely of thick natural streams of glass (hence the name of the island), like the well-known obsidian and perlite.

Ces sociétés disposent des moyens de production tels que des bulldozers, des camions, des hangars, des machines à coudre pour ensacher. L’évolution de la production de ces industries extractives a permis de créer environ 2000 emplois par an.

En outre ce sel n’est pas iodé et il est mal conditionné, il est actuellement utilisé dans le domaine industriel. Les éthiopiens importent du sel alimentaire depuis d'autres pays
The ibex is an imposing animal when you face it in the high alpine mountains of Switzerland. I will probably never forget this memorable day when I was able to meet the ibexes in one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Switzerland. At an altitude of about 2200m above sea level, we hiked along the rocks towards a high plateau, where ibexes have already been sighted. I got my camera ready and saw two horns sticking out from behind a rock in the distance. As I got closer, I saw him, the king of the Alps, enjoying the quiet morning mood togehter with his friend. ( Not in the picture).
I was deeply touched but also amazed at how impressive the ibex was standing there and enjoyed the morning silence, it seemed. He didn't let me bother him at all and I was able to get closer to him step by step. My breath caught and I was simply fascinated by this unique beauty in the wild alpine landscape of Switzerland. It was the greatest wish I had for the year 2022 to see ibexes in the wild nature of the swiss alps where they definitely belong in all their glory and it came true here before my eyes in a breathtaking way.
In the Alps, the ibex lives at the height between the forest and ice border. He climbs up to heights of 3500 m. In winter, however, it stays at lower altitudes than in summer, and even in summer it often descends to alpine meadows to feed while spending the night at high altitudes.
How the "King of the Alps" returned to his throne:
The story of the ibex is a success story of a reintroduction. The «King of the Alps» was almost exterminated in the entire Alpine region by the beginning of the 19th century. Today, more than 40,000 ibexes inhabit the Alpine arc again, around 17,000 of these proud animals live in Switzerland.
The reason for the extinction of the majestic ibex was not only trophy hunting and game, but also the healing properties attributed to the horns, hair, blood and "bezoar balls". The latter are small balls of hair and plant remains in the stomach of the ibex. They were sold in pharmacies in the hope of alleviating dizziness, fainting, jaundice and melancholy. Only about a hundred animals survived. Thanks to a successful reintroduction program, the alpine ibex has now returned to its habitat.

Antsira (Madagascar) - Avec cette photo d’un chargement de sacs de sel sur la remorque d’un tracteur, je commence une série sur ce thème qui ne comportera que quelques photos car je n’ai pu y consacrer que quelques heures.
Les salines d’Antsira sont localisées à 8 km de Belo-sur-Mer, village de pêcheurs situé à 80 km au sud de Morondava.
Comme je n’ai pas trouvé de véhicule pour me conduire sur le lieu d’exploitation -la charrette à zébus un temps envisagée n’était même pas disponible-, j’y suis allé en pirogue en passant par la lagune. Deux heures de navigation, puis, une heure de marche.
A Antsira, hormis une poignée de maisons de pêcheurs qui justifie le terme de « village », il n’y a que des salines. Des bassins artificiels peu profonds remplis par les marées successives et dont l’évaporation laisse apparaître ce qu’on appelle ici, « l’or blanc ». La production est répartie en trois catégories : sel fin (la meilleure qualité) conditionné dans des sacs marqué de rouge, moyen (sacs jaunes) et grossier (sacs verts).
- Côté prise de vues, en raison du temps mis pour accéder aux salines je suis arrivé à une heure où le soleil tapait dur. La réverbération sur les salines m'a obligé à garder mes lunettes de soleil pour photographier. Sans parler de la température avoisinant les 40°. Malgré ces conditions, les manutentionnaires, pieds nus sur le sel pour la plupart, qui chargeaient des sacs de 50 kilos, gardaient pourtant le sourire.

Antsira (Madagascar) - With this photo of a load of bags of salt on the trailer of a tractor, I am starting a small series on this theme which will only include a few photos because I have only been able to devote a few hours to it.
The saltworks are located in Antsira 7 or 8 km from Belo-sur-Mer, a fishing village located 80 km south of Morondava.
As I did not find a vehicle to drive me to the place of exploitation - the zebu cart that I had been offered was not even available -, I went there by canoe through the lagoon . Two hours of navigation, then one hour of walking.
In Antsira, apart from a handful of fishermen's houses which justifies the term "village", there are only saltworks. Shallow artificial basins filled by successive tides and whose evaporation reveals what is called here, "white gold". Production is divided into three categories: fine salt (best quality) packaged in bags marked with red, medium (yellow bags) and coarse (green bags).
Les marais salants s'étendent de Trapani à Marsala quasiment (côté ouest de l'île) et couvrent une zone d'environ 970 hectares. Certains sont encore en exploitation, et la zone des marais est une réserve naturelle gérée par le WWF depuis 1995. Cette gestion par le WWF permet la restauration des moulins, qui souvent tombent en ruine. Mais cette gestion fait de cette zone aussi une très belle réserve animalière riche en oiseaux type échassiers, flamands, faucons pêcheurs... et toutes sortes d'oiseaux migrateurs.
La récupération du sel dans la région date des phéniciens, le sel était alors essentiel pour la conservation des aliments. Le port de Trapani a alors vu croître son importance au XIIème siécle avec l'exploitation du sel, considéré comme le meilleur d'Italie. Aujourd'hui encore ce sel est considéré comme un sel de luxe, très utilisé dans la haute gastronomie.
Contrairement au sel de Guérande légèrement gris, sauf pour la fleur de sel, le sel de Trapani et de la région est très blanc. Ce blanc est vraisemblablement du au fait qu'il fait plus chaud qu'en France, et donc que l'évaporation étant plus rapide, le sable n'a pas le temps de se déposer sur le sel.
The salt marshes extend from Trapani to Marsala almost (west side of the island) and cover an area of approximately 970 hectares. Some are still in operation, and the marsh area is a nature reserve managed by WWF since 1995. This management by WWF allows the restoration of mills, which often fall into disrepair. But this management also makes this area a very beautiful animal reserve rich in wading birds, Flemish birds, fishing hawks ... and all kinds of migratory birds.
The recovery of salt in the region dates from the Phoenicians, salt was then essential for the preservation of food. The port of Trapani then saw its importance grow in the 12th century with the exploitation of salt, considered to be the best in Italy. Even today this salt is considered to be a luxury salt, widely used in haute cuisine.
Unlike the slightly gray Guérande salt, except for the fleur de sel, the Trapani and regional salt is very white. This white is probably due to the fact that it is warmer than in France, and therefore that evaporation is faster, the sand does not have time to settle on the salt.

Maroon bells, aspen, colorado
The Maroon Bells are two peaks in the Elk Mountains, Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, separated by about half a kilometer (one-third of a mile).[5] The mountains are on the border between Pitkin County and Gunnison County, Colorado, United States, about 12 miles (19 km) southwest of Aspen. Both peaks are fourteeners. Maroon Peak, at 14,163 feet (4317 m), is the 27th highest peak in Colorado. North Maroon Peak, at 14,019 feet (4273 m), is the 50th highest (depending on how they are counted). The view of the Maroon Bells to the southwest from the Maroon Creek valley is commonly photographed. The peaks are located in the Maroon Bells–Snowmass Wilderness of White River National Forest.[6][7] Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness was one of five areas in Colorado designated as wilderness in the original Wilderness Act of 1964. The Wilderness area surrounds the extremely popular Maroon Bells Scenic Area, which is a major access point for Wilderness travel.[8]
Unlike other mountains in the Rockies that are composed of granite and limestone, the Bells are composed of metamorphic sedimentary mudstone that has hardened into rock over millions of years. Mudstone is weak and fractures readily, giving rise to dangerously loose rock along almost any route. A US Forest Service sign on the access trail warns would-be climbers of "downsloping, loose, rotten and unstable" rock that "kills without warning". The mudstone is also responsible for the Bells' distinctive maroon color. The Bells got their "deadly" reputation in 1965 when eight people died in five separate accidents.
Maroon Lake elevation 9,580 ft (2,920 m) occupies a basin that was sculpted by Ice-Age glaciers and later dammed by a landslide and rockfall debris from the steep slopes above the valley floor.

L'exploitation de la marne a fait disparaître le prolongement de l'ancien Luikerweg, et la plate-forme symbolise ce prolongement à partir d'aujourd'hui. De la plate-forme, vous regardez dans la carrière et voyez les lacs avec leur couleur azur profond, causée par le reflet du ciel bleu dans les profondeurs de l'eau. Le point le plus profond de la carrière est de 5m et la Meuse est de 45m à cet endroit.
L'origine de cette carrière est due à ENCI (First Dutch Cement Industry). Dès 1926, l'extraction de la marne très calcaire pour l'industrie du ciment a commencé ici, au cœur de Sint Pietersberg. 900 000 tonnes de ciment y ont été produites, l'imposante cheminée de l'usine ENCI dominant le paysage. Depuis 2018, l'exploitation de la marne a cessé et la nature a retrouvé de l'espace grâce aux Natuurmonumenten.
Marl mining eliminated the extension of the old Luikerweg, and the platform symbolizes this extension to this day. From the platform, you look down into the quarry and see the lakes with their deep azure color, caused by the reflection of the blue sky in the water's depths. The quarry's deepest point is 5 meters, and the Meuse River is 45 meters deep at this point.
This quarry was founded by ENCI (First Dutch Cement Industry). As early as 1926, the extraction of the highly calcareous marl for the cement industry began here, in the heart of Sint Pietersberg. 900,000 tons of cement were produced here, with the imposing chimney of the ENCI factory dominating the landscape. Since 2018, marl mining has ceased, and nature has regained its place thanks to the Nature Monuments.
