The green waves now follow the green wall.

This is the second photo from the Rolling Hills location in Moravia, Czech Republic.

At the same time, this is my absolute favorite photo from the entire tour. If I had returned home after three days with just this photo, I would have been completely satisfied (of course I'm still happy that that's not the case).

This picture shows a slightly wider view of the hills behind the line of trees. Because of this, and because of the more intense "light and shadow play", it has a completely different dynamic than the version I showed you last week.

My wish as a photographer is to create at least one photo every month, which I really like. With this photo here, I have definitely achieved this target for April.

Every day I leave my praxis at lunchtime, grab my camera and walk through the city of Bochum, Germany just for one hour.

Trying to get a good shot, which is not so simple, because it is NOT a nice city !!!

27th March 2022 :

Had to nip to the nearest supermarket this morning and hoping I'd find something to photo took my camera with me.

The oyster van had just opened as I came out and someone was ready to get some. The van comes every Sunday during the oyster season and is very popular.

Sadly not for us, they are well over our everyday budget. :(

Not online, Graham isn't very well. :(

So, what are you waiting for...?

Every time I post a sunset picture I always get a mental picture of Anita and I riding off into the sunset much in the same manner that the cowboys rode off into the sunset at the end of the movie. But Anita wasn't with me this time! This was a couple of weeks ago when I took the Long way home from church. This was up on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National park at just about sunset and the colors were awesome.

Every week I am trying not fall into some of the more obvious shots I could take, as quite simply, you lot do it so much better (seriously, have you seen how great some of your work is?!)

Instead I try and think up a (relatively) unique interpretation of the theme, so that if the quality isn't there, at least I've brought something worthwhile to the group.

This week's submission was thought up within hours of reading the subject thread, but took me the whole week of cooking boiled eggs to collect my shells.

Again, I have three versions of this shot, and I have seriously struggled to pick my 'one'.

How do you guy's do it? How do you not worry that one of the others would be so much better?

Anyway, I'm rambling - I blame it on the morning and lack of coffee - so I'll stop here.

I hope you all have a fantastic Macro Monday, and a brilliant week ahead.

Every afternoon when I finish up work, he demands that I give him my undivided attention.

Wishing everyone a wonderful, safe, fun weekend as we here in the US enjoy the long Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer...and prayers go out to everyone who may be affected by Hurricane Dorian...it's white knuckle season here along the gulf and east coasts!

...has a silver lining!

- Praia Grande, Portugal -

every time we walk on the Rheinsteig - a path between between Koblenz and Rüdesheim high over the Rhein - we enjoy the views of this river, the mountains and the many castles.

this time we walked to the castles Sterrenberg and nearby Liebenstein, the so-called "Enemy Brothers"

Every end signifies the start of a new beginning...

This is the Undercroft for Lincoln's Inn Field Chapel. John Donne wrote the immortal words when he was minister at the Chapel and before he became the Dean of St Pauls.

A Chapel stood here before and this is the new one dating from 1623 (hardly settled down yet).

Ohh John Donne's poem :-)

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

This became more famous after Hemingway used it for his book title.

Have a great Sunday everyone and a brilliant week ahead.

Regards

Mark

Every winter the local bay freezes over and winter activities begin. When the ice gets thick enough the motorcycle races begin. Reworked from my archives.

Every year during Gay Pride in San Francisco a large pink triangle is placed on Twin Peaks in full view of the city. Please feel free to go large to read the content of the sign.

From Wikipedia: German: Rosa Winkel) was one of the Nazi concentration camp badges, used by the Nazis to identify male prisoners in concentration camps who were sent there because of their homosexuality. Every prisoner had to wear a triangle on his or her jacket, the color of which was to categorize him or her according "to his kind." Jews had to wear the yellow badge, and "anti-social individuals" (which included vagrants, "work shy" individuals and often, but not exclusively, lesbians[citation needed]), the black triangle. The black triangle as a symbol of lesbian or feminist solidarity, a counterpart to the gay pink triangle, probably originated from the Nazi "asocial" black triangle.

The inverted pink triangle has become an international symbol of gay pride and the gay rights movement, and is second in popularity only to the rainbow flag.

Every now and again, the son shines bright.

Every day in Sydney, around 35,000 people use ferries to commute around Sydney Harbour. In this 90 second video I share a few of the sights and sounds on a typical commute into one of Sydney's bays. In my experience, buses, trains and trams cannot compare to the relaxed serenity of a ride on a Sydney ferry. So sit back, relax and let's take a ride on a Sydney ferry. How does it compare to your daily commute?

I am sure I have used this quote many times before, but I love it and I love this picture of my little angel walking through this thick field of bluebonnets...it was so magical ♥

The best times of my life

Were the ones that had you

I had to bury them inside

To get me through

...

I got rid of everything that smells like you

Every dairy farm had one - a small building near the cow barn where the milk was stored [until it was taken to the local processing plant for bottling and shipping to markets.] On my grandparents' farm, refrigeration was by means of a large cement tank filled with icy spring water. The metal cans sat there in the water till there was enough to truck to the plant. A heavy cement lid kept it all cold.

This is a photo painting that started with a small cement block house that reminded me of the milk house on the old farm. Starting with the shed, the rest was painted from memory. My cousin and I spent a lot of time down here by the barn while milking was going on. There were always kittens to play with, and the hay mow on the barn's upper floor.

Every time I pass by Bridgeport, I always see these cows graze on the field. But this time, one of the cows gazes at me.

After month of planning a trip to this location near "passo di giau", on monday my buddys and me realized it.

To make this shot so unique the time must be selected correctly, because the lake is at ~2300 meters over sea level and the snow is hiding the small lake till May every year.

My plan was to capture the galactic center of the milkyway near the "Monte Pelmo" which is reflecting on the right side of the panorama picture, so its only possible to shoot this picture at a moonless night with clear sky's from May to July because the milkyway is moving to the right side from month to month.

the panorama picture is made with 36 singleframes and 3 rows.

there is everything real on this picture, no photoshop fake.

No art at all, just an every day's sunset seen through a dirty window. Maybe some day in a future far away I'll be bored enough to clean this window, until then I'd prefer to watch the sun going down and admire the beauty of dust and raindrops…
