I captured this image at the Falls Platform with a view looking to the northeast at Brooks Falls while observing a brown bear in Katmai National Park. The image is of a male brown bear on top of the Falls waiting for salmon to make the jump and attempt to catch it to eat.
The perfect stretch of beach to take a long walk every evening on the way to, or on the way back from, the bars or restaurants. Covered a fair few miles up and down, down and up.
Nearly every morning on North Uist I'd be up at stupid o'clock resting against an old wall wrapped in my camoflague poncho watching for the corncrakes to show themselves - even if only for a moment. I kept thinking how good it would be if one sat up on the wall but they were much more visible, and likely, in the nettle patch. Something caught my eye and as I looked right this one was coming onto the wall. My movement did disturb it so I only got a couple of shots - if I go back another time I may even take a hide and just get better set for that one opportunity.

Had to nip to the nearest supermarket this morning and hoping I'd find something to photo took my camera with me.
The oyster van had just opened as I came out and someone was ready to get some. The van comes every Sunday during the oyster season and is very popular.
Sadly not for us, they are well over our everyday budget. :(
Not online, Graham isn't very well. :(

Every time I post a sunset picture I always get a mental picture of Anita and I riding off into the sunset much in the same manner that the cowboys rode off into the sunset at the end of the movie. But Anita wasn't with me this time! This was a couple of weeks ago when I took the Long way home from church. This was up on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National park at just about sunset and the colors were awesome.
Every time Whiskey Monday unveils a new sim, I go and photostalk it. She hasn't left rez on yet but I know I'll catch her out one day.

My new sim design is inspired by a low country tidal marsh at ebb tide. I can only take credit for the inspiration and the creative brief. The sim was designed by Sparkle Skye, who once again took my ideas and magically brought them to life. Well, less magic and more hard work. If you need sim design, I can't say enough good things about her work. She nails it every time, and I am not an easy client.

Every town has THAT house. Old. Decrepit. Creepy. It sits amongst trees that are dead, standing over a yard overgrown with weeds. Shutters swing in the breeze, hanging on by rusted hinges. The paint has chipped away. More shingles lie amongst the weeds than on the roof. At least one window is broken. Dark clouds always seem to hover over the house, situated on a dead end street.
And then there are the stories. A man went mad and murdered his whole family in the house. There’s an old woman who died there and she didn’t want anyone else to live there. One night, the house suffered a fire and a baby died in it. On and on, with a tragic death at the center.
Because then come the other stories. Go there at night and you can hear screams coming from the house! Don’t go inside because if you do, the old woman will chase you down! People who stay in the house hear the cries of an infant and smell smoke at night.
The house fascinates me. It always has, ever since I was a child and I first heard the stories. It is another October. Time to collect the odd stories about the house, my favorite part of the year.
