Every time I think I've photographed the last butterfly for the season, another procrastinator pops up. This late painted lady was feeding on a fermenting crabapple. Maybe she was drowning her sorrows now that warm sunny days are slipping away.
See my "About" page on Flickr for the link to support my efforts... just the price of a cup of coffee is appreciated. Thank you. www.flickr.com/people/jax_chile/

“Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I walked into the sad part of sunset and as I was there talking to myself, I realized that the other side was oh so close, only a step away, but I could not go astray....My side was already chosen ...To be among the hues of orange and red and forever be sad...b.mikic

Every year at Christmas time, I put on my red shirt and my Santa hat and set out to deck the halls with festive lighting. And every year, the lights get all tangled up; it's very aggravating, and makes it hard to stay in a festive mood. ;-)

Every year, the cold of winter melts away and spring brings a new beginning. New beginning are never easy, but....

🌹 A special Thank to Lawrence for inviting me to participate in this beautiful event! 🌹
We get a lot of turkeys in the yard eating dropped seeds from the squirrel feeder, but this is the first year we see one in the tree, almost every day ! The squirrels aren't very happy.

Every year we buy a wild flower mix to add to our garden. We buy the bag that has the poppies. I especially like these as they grow all summer. And my husband is a California boy so they make him happy:)
Be well dear Flickr friends!!
Thanks for visiting!
Every so often you luck out and are at the right place, at the right time, with the right conditions.

Thank you for your very kind visit and comments.
With all the processing options available today, it seems we become programmed to look at photos and immediately analyze what might be done to tweak them to make them better in some way. I recall when I first began photography 8 or so years ago, I knew nothing about anything and thus deleted at least 90% of my photos upon review, often all of them. Now, even though I still don't know much, I delete none on the basis of being possibly able to do something with them. Sometimes I do with pleasing results. Most of the time I do not and they remain buried in the archives where they will probably never do more than take up space.
When this view of the far north end of the lake (where the turtles bask in the spring and summer but have now already vanished into their hibernational haunts) appeared, now habitual thinking said, "what does this need?" I thought for a while and finally determined that there was really nothing I could do to make this photo better. Different maybe, but not better. Perhaps you agree.
So here you have it...an actual unenhanced SOOC snap shot of my beloved northwoods entering prime time for color. Maybe not too artsy...but still kind of pretty...;-))
Every fisherman knows early morning is the best time for fishing, so as the mist rises on Stony Lake in central Ontario, this boat is waiting for it’s occupants. I spent many early mornings on this lake with my father always hoping to get the big one. Most of the time it was just nibbles.

Every spring we look forward to returning storks. This wait is interesting and memorable. He flies first, then she does. We have the opportunity to observe their life until the autumn. In the autumn we escort them, in the spring we look forward to returning...
Every summer morning Rideau Hall is alive with music and colourful drills. The Changing of the Guard began as a morning routine 1959, and has turned into an annual tradition.Rideau Hall was built in 1838 by early Ottawa lumber baron Thomas MacKay; it became the permanent residence of the Governor General's in 1867.
A different experience in every season: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are exquisite, tranquil and inspiring all year round. Different footpaths, cycle routes and horse trails will lead you – with or without the aid of a forest ranger – through the beauty of one of the Netherlands' most unique areas of nature. There are no less than 80 fens in this stunning green expanse – pretty impressive, right?
Four seasons
Whether it’s the frozen fairy-tale fens of the winter, the dynamics of nature coming to life in spring, the musical croaking of frogs in the summer, or the explosion of colours in the autumn: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are a feast for all the senses.
Spot kingfishers, deer and roe deer, or bear witness to the wide variety of insects and water creatures in the fens and ditches. And after an exhilarating day of activity or sport, head to one of the large terraces to enjoy the peace and quiet and a tasty snack, lunch or dinner.Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens Groot Speijck Visitor Centre has a great terrace, as does Boshuis Venkraai. And both are ideal places to relax and soak up the surroundings.
Every now and then I like to have a little fun with composites....this one inspired by Saturday night's amazing moonrise.
