Got this one walking around Dal lake. Was waiting for the boats to align but they never seemed to align perfectly.
Standard class 4, 76084 on the North Norfolk Railway, during a Timeline Events Charter. The day started with some very dull weather but ended with some gorgeous evening light
Evening clouds during one of the relatively clear days we had during the summer of 2021. Even so, it was still very hazy.
The sun setting beyond Eggardon hillfort in west Dorset. Farmer's bonfires and a little mist added to the great atmosphere that's always to be felt up on Eggardon. It's that sort of place.

25 May 2014 was the annual May Species Count, which went really well. There were seven people in my group and we travelled in two vehicles, covering a large area SW of Calgary and W of Priddis. The Count lasted from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the weather was mostly clear but clouded up by noon, with a short shower while we were having lunch at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park. Heavy clouds for the rest of the day, calm, 9-18°C, with 88km travelled by car. 69 bird species were found, plus 15 White-tailed Deer and two Moose. A good day! Thanks for the ride, Phil! Much appreciated!
Each year on this Count, a highlight is calling in to see the much sought-after Evening Grosbeaks at Barb Castell's acreage. They didn't let us down, and even gave us some chances to get a few photos. They were a fair distance away and seemed to be constantly on the move, so I didn't get any photos that were particularly good. However, when it comes to Evening Grosbeaks, I'll take anything I can get : )
After the Count ended, it was pointed out that we could return to the city by one of two different routes. If we had chosen the other route, we would have missed the other highlight of the day - a Great Gray Owl! It didn't stay around for long, as it was busy hunting, but we did manage to get a handful of quick shots. We also saw a Ring-necked Pheasant in a field, just within camera range.

¬ The evolving moments of evening on June summer day with exotic colours on river sheet poured out by sun behind clouds.
I usually walk through a forest when getting back home from work. I can say that each season has its own beauty but autumn however is my favorite one.
A walk along the Matanuska Riverbed at the start of autumn proved entertaining and relaxing with beautiful views of Lazy Mountain and Matanuska Peak. The old Matanuska River Bridge can be seen downriver, which is now a popular and heavily trafficked pedestrian bridge.

Taken in the 'China: Through the Looking Glass' exhibition (May-September 2015).
This exhibition explores the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. In this collaboration between The Costume Institute and the Department of Asian Art, high fashion is juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, including films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery.
From the earliest period of European contact with China in the sixteenth century, the West has been enchanted with enigmatic objects and imagery from the East, providing inspiration for fashion designers from Paul Poiret to Yves Saint Laurent, whose fashions are infused at every turn with romance, nostalgia, and make-believe. Through the looking glass of fashion, designers conjoin disparate stylistic references into a pastiche of Chinese aesthetic and cultural traditions.
The exhibition features more than 140 examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear alongside Chinese art. Filmic representations of China are incorporated throughout to reveal how our visions of China are framed by narratives that draw upon popular culture, and also to recognize the importance of cinema as a medium through which to understand the richness of Chinese history.
