I got quite the surprise as I had my long lens trained on our feeder taking photos of battling Pine Siskins. All of a sudden my viewfinder was filled with this much larger bird! I don't think I've ever seen one before, so this was quite the treat to be so close to her (about 10' through a window.)

This Friday evening protest at Camberwell Junction featured slide projections and had over 100 people attending. It was held near the office of Josh Frydenberg, the Liberal MP for Kooyong and the Environment and Climate Change Minister in the Turnbull Government. He needs to step up and stop the Adani Carmichael coal mine from being developed as it is inconsistent with Australia's ratification and commitments under the 2015 Paris Agreement to keep temperatures well below 2C temperature target. 95 per cent of Australia's coal must remain unexploited to be consistent with limiting temperatures to 2C according to a 2015 peer reviewed study by Ekins and McGlade
On a training run in september I noticed the sun was so spectacular that I had better been photographing then running that evening. So the next evening I returned with my camera, only to find the sun was not half that great as the evening before. It took me two more evenings before the sun came close to like it had been that running evening. This is how it looked like.
On Thai Airways A333 taking off shortly before the evening storm as you can see in the image hit the area that evening. Our flight time from Bangkok to Taipei is approx. 3.3 hours. This flight was on time, and we arrived in Taipei safely around 10 pm.
That evening Moon looked realy big. I took this picture knowing that with focal length of my phone it would be only a little white disk.
However my impulse turned to not bad landscape.
A quiet evening by Loch a' Chairn Bhain, a large inlet on the West Highland coastline. Over the wall to the left is a cottage which is half a kilometre from the road. Behind is Ben Quinnag. The cottage has no mod con and water is pumped up from a well. Calor gas for cooking. Oil lamps for lighting. Idyllic. (Well, it was all those years ago when this old photo was taken from spending 2 weeks living there. Best seen larger size.)

I had just got out of the car when I noticed the horses, I wasn't close enough to concentrate on them. They do however show another side of daily life on Dunstable Downs.
