Despite a mistiness over the Donegal hills there was still a glare from the sun which cast this lovely evening light on the promenade. A short walk on the prom was a delightful way to end a busy day.
The view across the Docklands, Victoria Harbour and Melbourne's western suburbs from the Rialto Towers.
Went for a much needed but chilly walk with my daughter. Stopped for a quick evening portrait by the church close to our home.
I rented a motorbike for the afternoon in Songkhla. On the way back after traveling all of Ko Yo (this spelling is awful), I stopped in a park under the bridge out of the island (although I assume it's most people's entry point). The people there were rather sketch, but that's all part of the fun.
I decided to take an evening drive in the courntry side and this is a small farm about 12 miles from home. Better viewed large. The equipment is a baler and a loader-stacker (see notes). It's a far cry from when I was a kid and we used hay hooks to "buck" the bales onto a flatbed truck on which one or more men stacked the bales.
On the evening of the 6th July 2022 the VLCC 'Esteem Astro' (2019, 312,105DWT) departs from Fawley for Zafiro oil field in the Gulf of Guinea Only one movement to see on Wednesday night but a VLCC in ballast was plenty enough!

The Shard is very nearly complete here, still has a crane on the side so I assume they were still finishing off some parts at the top. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's actually finished now?

D11558. An evening view from the terrace of Shrigley Hall. Situated in Cheshire just outside the village of Pott Shrigley a few miles north of Macclesfield, Shrigley Hall was once the home of a wealthy Lancashire mill owner who became an MP and High Sheriff of Cheshire.
Built in 1825, it is now a hotel and golf course plus a venue for weddings, conferences and other similar events.

I got me a new cam last week, a used Canon EOS 5D. A friend of mine was selling it and I couldn't pass up the chance to go full-frame :-)
But ever since I got it, whenever I have some free time, it's either too late or raining, so I haven't had much chances to try it out, yet. This is the first 5D photo I post and hopefully there will be many more...

Evening light on the cliffs and hills of Capitol Reef National Park near Fruita
I had just arrived at Fruita (pronounced "Fruit-ah") at Capital Reef National Park in the afternoon, after driving from near Kanab via a long gravel back road. After meeting a friend here and setting up camp it was late afternoon, and there was just time to head out and do some brief photography nearby before the day ended. We had an idea about heading into one of the west side canyons that are accessible by the popular (mostly) paved road, but we didn't get nearly that far before we saw this beautiful evening light. Actually, we were probably not even a quarter-mile from the campground!
The light in this part of the park often poses a bit of a challenge late in the day. While one might look for late golden hour sun on these west-facing sandstone cliffs and peaks, the land rises from here toward the west, causing the sun to disappear from this area earlier than you might expect. But we got lucky, as broken clouds softened and warmed the light as the last sun touched these rocks just as we arrived at this spot. It is the kind of place I might usually drive past, as it is almost too obvious of a photographic location. However, I readily admit to stopping at iconic locations when the light is special, as it surely was on this evening.
