I have been home in Washington now for almost a month and until now have not posted a new photo of my view. Yesterday it was rainy off and on and the evening brought this dark cloud cover over Skagit and Utsalady Bays. View from my living room looking northward towards Deception Pass. Pretty close to the actual color last night.

Am letzen Abend in Dresden erfreute ich mich der Abendsonne. Und ich frage eine nette Dame, ob sie nicht ein paar Bilder von mir machen könnte.
I've been away with a lot of things the past couple of months, including a trip back to Tennessee to finally vacate the apartment that had turned into expensive storage. Cedar Pond, just south of the Tennessee/Kentucky state line alongside the Trace (or the Woodlands Trace, as it is now called) will always be high on my list of favorite places (6-13-2015).
Evening light over Foveaux Strait/ Te Ara-a-Kiwa. Rakiura/Stewart Island in distance. The strait which separates Rakiura/Stewart Island from Te Waipounamu / South Island is quite shallow (18 to 46 m) and is said to be one of the roughest and most unpredictable stretches of water in the world.
