Taken in the Scottish Highlands, July 2016, around 9.30pm from a viewing hide. Amazing to see one appear - can't wait to go back next year for more!!

We had watched 7 freights come and go in just over 3 hours here. It wasn't our original idea but as the Dowlow - Ashbury ran 82 minutes early off Dowlow plans had to change.

A warm evening stroll amid the tide and driftwood that was swept up over a few stormy days along Wailua Beach. A very low-key and natural landscape and the water was plenty warm enough for a swim.
At the roadside one evening in summer with picnic dinner and a splendid view of the impending sunset. Simple bliss.

It's afterhours in the Alleghany Highlands of the Virginias on a cold December evening. Strong winds whip over the backbones of the ridges high above Moss Run, Virginia. The CSX Alleghany Subdivision is active with a handful of trains running east and west since noon. An eastbound loaded coal train bound for the docks of Newport News, Virginia rolls swiftly downhill towards Clifton Forge. The eastbound was held up at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, awaiting the arrival of a pair of empties to come west. After tackling the grade, CSX 394 West topped the summit inside of Alleghany Tunnel before snaking through rugged terrain before breaking back into civilization just past OX Cabin, here at Moss Run.
Though less dramatic in colouring than the males, the females have a very interesting appearance, and in the snow and dim light, almost made better options for photography.
The evening scene at Jogashima, Kanagawa.
Mt. Fuji is marginally recognized beyond the sea. The sea is rather calm and there are only small waves.

Off Scotland. The sky is entirely natural and the mottling is due to the sun's rays lighting the clouds beneath.

"Evening: The Sunset" ~ Moody Blues
When the sun goes down,
And the clouds all frown,
Night has begun for the sunset.
See it with your eyes;
Earth re-energized
By the sun's rays every day.
Take a look out there,
Planets everywhere.
When the sun goes down,
And the clouds all frown,
Night has begun for the sunset.
Shadows on the ground;
Never make a sound,
Fading away in the sunset.
Night has now become
Day for everyone.
I can see it all
From this great height.
I can feel the sun
Slipping out of sight;
And the world still goes on
Through the night.
