Freight on the Moffat route is hard to rely on but there are always a few trains in a 24 hour period, it's just a case of when they turn up! Fortunately, while waiting for Amtrak No. 6, a westbound Union Pacific empty oil train appeared. UP C44ACM No. 7210 leads the train west at Parshall, CO. The 6 units on the head end are not all in use, but may be needed as distributed power on the return journey with the loaded train.

Empty coal 747 rolls through the last mile of the Lurgan Branch with NS 2502, an EMD SD70, on the head end.
Sad to see silent and empty playgrounds. The field in front of the playground is normally full of kids playing soccer or people throwing balls for their dogs.

Yesterday I found an empty store. It occupied an entire ground floor between two streets and the warm late afternoon light entered through the doors facing west. The blue of the sky and the houses behind me were reflected in the glass of the window in front of me, as well as the reflections of cars and people passing by and coming in and out of the empty space of the store, transforming it into a surreal scene.
Yesterday I looked, observed and found another street miracle.
Looking through the window into the room where we used to meet with our weekly Camera Club.
Missing gatherings and people and the way it used to be.
But things are looking up! With vaccines we may get back there before too too long....

The tail end of the first cut of Edgewater Empties sits in the middle of South Yard in Sheboygan. The crew has already cut off the lead unit and they are headed back down the spur to get the 2nd cut.
It is often said that the whole is more than the some of the parts.
Try and remove a part of something wonderful. Try and remove something about someone that you love. Perhaps it can be done, but the result is usually disappointing. The entire package is what makes people wonderful.
And that goes for cookies as well!

If you have ever used the Northern Line you will know that a practically empty platform is a rarer occurence than a gap year with heavy snow in London. Every day close to a million people use this underground line, making it the busiest in London and no pleasure to use. This is Clapham Common station after Christmas - as empty as I have ever seen it.
