The people on the Tricycle are returning empty soft drink bottles (in this case Mountain Dew) back to the Distributor in return for a deposit on the bottles.
WBD coal empty E PEKNAM0 54A hustles by rural Kirkwood, IL on the Ottumwa Subdivision with dead dinosaur empties for Wyoming. For years I pondered what kind of view the daring would have from atop those catwalks on the bin heads of these prairie elevators. Nice that I don't need to even think about experiencing those death defying heights in person anymore!
U718 arrives the north end of Proctor yard behind CN 6006, IC 6253, and BLE 900 on 9/11/18. This is the fourth time I have seen the Minorca stone empties arriving Proctor at first light in the last couple of weeks.
the brewery "gaffel" right next to the cathedral of Cologne, after we had eaten and everyone was gone, I put my camera on the table and made this image
...at this beautiful summer day in 2010, together with my beloved family, i visited Cologne as a tourist and now years later I live in this city...so I've decided to share a photo of my new hometown cologne.
update 02.2021
it fits into our crazy times and symbolises, among other things, emptiness, not only in the rooms, but rather in our thoughts and hearts. But at the end of the tunnel, here of the illuminated bar, there is light. And therefore hope for better times again.

This empty street in downtown Stuart, Florida was photographed very early one morning. See this, and more, on my website at http:tom-claud.pixels.com.
....Not really a good idea. Should be full of the red stuff.....
Anyway my attempt at an arty shot. Hope you like.
Sadly the two eggs that the marina swans laid early April have been removed from the nest. For three years the eggs she laid have been infertile but the parents sat on them for months. Last year the eggs were removed after about 3 months but this year I'd say they've noted when the eggs were laid and been ready to remove them if they are way over the incubation period. It must be so distressing for her as she's now busy building up the old nest.
I had booked a night in Östersund, Sweden on my quick trip to return our rental car to Oslo. I didn't know it would be Midsommar and that the small city would be virtually empty of people. I walked many empty streets looking for a place to eat, but everywhere I went looked like this photo, devoid of all signs of human life and activity! Eventually I chanced across Tre Rum Restaurant, whose bartender/owner told me it was the only place open in the city. It was bustling with the, I don't know, 40 or 50 remaining souls who had not left town for the countryside. I had a wonderful meal and a great time!

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Just one shot that totally summed up the mood of the entire city on the day. The atmosphere was dour and empty and street shooting was a struggle. There feels to me like a deep pain in his eyes here. Thank you all for supporting my street photography.

Once I knew only darkness and stillness... my life was without past or future... but a little word from the fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and my heart leaped to the rapture of living.

It's a great excuse and luxury, having a job and blaming it for your inability to do your own art. When you don't have to work, you are left with the horror of facing your own lack of imagination and your own emptiness. A devastating possibility when finally time is your own.
--Julian Schnabel
Tonight we stopped at Liberty State Park. Here is one shot of the 9-11 Memorial called Empty Sky. Very moving tribute. One spot I will be going back to.

Probably an old Eagle's Grocery or Rexall. It looks like the old Rexall's we had up here. It just spoke to me and I took the shot in Burlington, Iowa.
