This is the Town of Gilbert water tower, located in the town that I live in (Gilbert, AZ). This was built in 1927, became a city icon, and even though not operational anymore, it was preserved and kept right in the middle of the now "hopping" city's downtown.
With 66532 dit on the rear, 66536 trails 6K64 1213 Thornton North Jn to Millerhill ballast empties along the Forth estuary near the village of Newmills.
The train is about to cross the wonderfully named Bluther Burn; the stone bridge to the left of the railway originally carried colliery tracks serving Valleyfield pit which was situated off scene to the left. The pit workings at one time were connected to Longannet pit and also to Bo'ness pit underneath the Forth. It closed in 1978.

Part V: The city was very, very empty yesterday afternoon, actually the main time of shopping. Which is also good in these Corona times when the population stays at home.

I've been meaning to do more black and white photography, but it's still a rare occurrence for me, and limited to landscape work. I feel like it can be fun to use black and white to play around with shapes and symmetry (not that one can't do that with colour, but I have been finding it more natural in black and white).
Tier 3 "heavies", officially ES44ACH's, move north up BN 2 at 30th St. as they lead BNSF train E-PAMBAM0-09A off the BNSF Ft. Scott Sub and onto the KCT. Though the trucks and underframe are becoming filthy as expected, the engines themselves are still fairly clean, at least compared to most power on the BNSF these days.
What's one thing that's different about this shot now? That's right, the Imperial Brewery was finally demolished recently. The curve here is nice, but without that structure in the background, this shot just isn't the same anymore. 5/24/25.
At the end of the day the work is done. The trucks are left to deserved rest and field, full of crops, is now left empty and alone.

Dragged myself out of bed to pop down to Chemical Beach this morning. I had to resort to my magenta tinged 5 stop filter for a bit of colour, but quite happy with this one following a bit of messing on.
This is the big hall at Zürich HB on a Sunday 6 AM. The ones who stayed up all night are not really visible, but also the early starters like me are nearly invisible.
The hall had intially six tracks, which would reach to the place, where I'm currently standing.
The guardian angle Niki de St. Phalle is visible to the right. The red circles at the end is art work by Mario Merz using the Fibonacci numbers.
66737 climbs towards the summit near Corrour with 6E45 0807 Fort William to North Blyth alumina empties.
