As I was looking for something to take for this picture I went outside and just started walking around. There were so many things I could have taken a picture of, things such as leaves, grass, etc. but as I continued to walk I notice this beautiful leaf that stood out to me. The color against the earth and the green grass really popped. It reminded me of our earth and all the beauty that is in it. Once again it was a cloudy overcast day and the lighting was perfect to get the colors surrounding this leaf. This picture was inspired by Mr amor the challenge stuff to take a picture for all of the elements earth, water, fire, and air. This was definitely one of my favorite element pictures and what is taking it without the inspiration from Mr Emmert.

Argon (Element # 18) by James St. John

Argon (Ar) is # 18 on the Periodic Table of Elements. At Earth surface conditions, it is an invisible gas. Argon is one of the "noble gases", along with helium, neon, krypton, xenon, and radon - they do not easily form compounds with other elements.

Twenty-six isotopes of argon are known - six occur naturally. Argon-40 is the most common variety. Argon-36, argon-37 (= radioactive), argon-38, argon-39 (= radioactive), and argon-41 (= radioactive) occur in small to trace amounts only.
