Vernissage der ersten gemeinsamen Ausstellung von Ali Görmez (50 FACES & MORE) und Wolfgang Brückner (STRUKTUR-
FORSCHER) im Waldorf Astoria Berlin (19. Etage) - 27.

* Wolfgang Brückner *
Selbst große prunkvolle Bauwerke verlieren in ihren Innenräumen schnell an Ausstrahlung.

Opening of the first joint exhibition by Ali Görmez (50 FACES & MORE) and Wolfgang Brückner (STRUKTURFORSCHER) at Waldorf Astoria Berlin (19th floor) - March 27, 2015

Whether in the elevator, on the street, in the office or at events. Faces are everywhere. We encounter them everywhere and begin to categorize them in different situations, to interpret and understand facial expressions. In faces we find our understanding, our affiliation, our dislikes and our own depths.
Pop artist Ali Görmez also loves faces. But it is not about assessing and classifying beauty. The artist knows that faces can quickly disguise themselves in order to appear invulnerable, strong or competent. He also knows that what may be successful at first glance fades the second time around.
For Ali Görmez, faces are stories and emotions. Emotions that he wants to immerse himself in. In doing so, the artist seeks the door to be able to look behind the façade, to read the story and the experience and to understand how to deal with it.
* Wolfgang Brückner *
One of the starting points for the STRUKTURFORSCHER project was the observation that the identity and special features of the location of buildings and residential complexes usually disappear abruptly in the interiors. Even large, magnificent buildings quickly lose their charisma in their interiors. And when art is part of the interior design, it rarely has a logical connection with the buildings and their surroundings.Wolfgang Brückner's pictures create an identification and "fraternization" with the respective building on the one hand, but also "dream windows" into the immediate surroundings on the other, which actually show what could be seen behind the walls, for example, if the architect had been able to build a window into an expanded perception.
As a full-time father and husband, I hardly ever stand by the track anymore, except for the occasional main line trips of the SSN or VSM and the events. The NS (or other companies) rolling stock I photograph is often by-catch of steam or museum rolling stock that I had gone out to see. Fortunately, it still happens every now and then that I have some time, but unfortunately that is only sporadic. This time my son and I went to Amsterdam Central Station to photograph the NS 1700s before they were taken out of service in December. And of course we also photographed other rolling stock.
Italien / Piemont - Cannobio
Cannobio is a town and comune on the river Cannobino and the shore of Lago Maggiore in Piedmont, Italy.
History
The local inhabitants probably became subject to Roman rule by the time of the emperor Augustus. Sarcophagi from the 2nd–3rd century CE have been found and conserved in the "Palazzo della Ragione".
The first documented mention of Cannobio dates to 909. During medieval times, the town became a center for wool and tanning industries, as well as the lumber trade. Cannobio was named as a village by 1207, and was granted administrative autonomy. The Palazzo della Ragione was constructed by 1291 under the government of the podestà Ugolino da Mandello.
Cannobio was assigned to the archdiocese of Milan and from 1817 was under the authority of the bishop of Novara. Its "pieve" comprised the areas of Cannobina, Cannero, Brissago and several areas on the eastern side of the lake. The church of St. Vittore, already present in 1076, and with a bell tower from the 13th century, was completely rebuilt between 1733 and 1749. Autonomous rule for the community of Cannobio and its valley came about in 1342, with the spontaneous submission to Luchino and Giovanni Visconti, lords of Milan. From then on, its administration remained closely connected to that of the Duchy of Milan.
In 1522 a painting of the Virgin Mary allegedly started bleeding. Shortly after this apparition, a plague swept through the area devastating lakeside and valley towns and villages, but leaving Cannobio relatively unscathed. Religious minds linked these two events and Cardinal Charles Borromeo ordered a chapel to be built to hold the painting which is still there today.
The economy went through a renewal in the 15th and 16th centuries. The built-up area spread from the original nucleus (the village) down towards the lake. Large residences were built including the Omacini and Pironi palaces.
During the Risorgimento the town repelled an Austrian attack from the lake (27–28 May 1859) and was visited by Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1862. The opening of the lakeside road to the Swiss border in 1863 created favorable conditions for the arrival of factories, including silk mills.
In 1927 the territory of the comune of Cannobio was extended to incorporate some small villages in the vicinity (Traffiume, Sant’Agata, San Bartolomeo). During the Second World War the people of Cannobio rose up against the Nazi and fascist regime, from 2 to 9 September 1944, and proclaimed the Republic of the Ossola. Since the end of the war the community has undergone further changes. From 1995 the town has come within the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
Main sights
The large lakefront piazza named after King Victor Emmanuel III was given a major refurbishment when in the winter of 2003–04 it was completely relaid in cobblestones and granite slabs. Also added was of a set of wide flagstone steps down to the lake, where people may sit and watch the lake steamers come and go from the landing stages nearby, and the sailing boats and wind-surfers skimming across the lake.
Some of the buildings both on the lakefront and further back in the old part of town date back over 600 years, from when Cannobio was a renowned smuggling town, and most of these have been restored in fine style.
From one, Giuseppe Garibaldi addressed the people of Cannobio in 1859, and on another stands a plaque celebrating an important event in Cannobio in 1627. Each building is painted a different colour, creating a traditional Italian port scene. To one side of the Piazza is Cannobio’s old harbour, which houses the sailing, rowing and speedboats belonging to the locals.
The Santuario della Pietà church commemorates the events of 1522, when a painting of the Virgin Mary was believed to have bled. With its open dome it stands by the lakeside. The painting itself is now housed in another church in the town, and though it is not removed itself, a "Sacra Costa", representing the painting, is processed through the streets on 7 January every year.
Cannobio has its own "Lido" at the north end of town with a large sandy beach. The beach has a European Union Blue Flag for its cleanliness and facilities.

Geschichte
März 1561 in Parma; † 21. August 1629 in Mailand).

Peter (44) had a broken leg, so he gave his shopping list to his mother Ursula, so she should do the grocery shopping. Unfortunately he wrote „batteries“ wrong, he wrote a word which sound like an ointment or medicine from the pharmacy. When Ursula came back Peter was very annoyed. He needed the batteries for his controller! (DAMNED!)
Covent Garden is a district in London, on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit-and-vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and with the Royal Opera House, itself known as "Covent Garden". The district is divided by the main thoroughfare of Long Acre, north of which is given over to independent shops centred on Neal's Yard and Seven Dials, while the south contains the central square with its street performers and most of the historical buildings, theatres and entertainment facilities, including the London Transport Museum and the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
The area was fields until briefly settled in the 7th century when it became the heart of the Anglo-Saxon trading town of Lundenwic, then abandoned at the end of the 9th century after which it returned to fields. By 1200 part of it had been walled off by the Abbot of Westminster Abbey for use as arable land and orchards, later referred to as "the garden of the Abbey and Convent", and later "the Convent Garden". Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries it was granted in 1552 by the young King Edward VI to John Russell, 1st Earl of Bedford (c.1485–1555), the trusted adviser to his father King Henry VIII. The 4th Earl commissioned Inigo Jones to build some fine houses to attract wealthy tenants. Jones designed the Italianate arcaded square along with the church of St Paul's. The design of the square was new to London and had a significant influence on modern town planning, acting as the prototype for new estates as London grew.
By 1654 a small open-air fruit-and-vegetable market had developed on the south side of the fashionable square. Gradually, both the market and the surrounding area fell into disrepute, as taverns, theatres, coffee-houses and brothels opened up.[5] By the 18th century it had become notorious for its abundance of brothels. An Act of Parliament was drawn up to control the area, and Charles Fowler's neo-classical building was erected in 1830 to cover and help organise the market. The market grew and further buildings were added: the Floral Hall, Charter Market, and in 1904 the Jubilee Market. By the end of the 1960s traffic congestion was causing problems, and in 1974 the market relocated to the New Covent Garden Market about three miles (5 km) south-west at Nine Elms. The central building re-opened as a shopping centre in 1980 and is now a tourist location containing cafes, pubs, small shops, and a craft market called the Apple Market, along with another market held in the Jubilee Hall.
Covent Garden falls within the London boroughs of Westminster and Camden and the parliamentary constituencies of Cities of London and Westminster and Holborn and St Pancras. The area has been served by the Piccadilly line at Covent Garden tube station since 1907; the 300 yard journey from Leicester Square tube station is the shortest in London.
Covent Garden market
The first record of a "new market in Covent Garden" is in 1654 when market traders set up stalls against the garden wall of Bedford House. The Earl of Bedford acquired a private charter from Charles II in 1670 for a fruit and vegetable market, permitting him and his heirs to hold a market every day except Sundays and Christmas Day. The original market, consisting of wooden stalls and sheds, became disorganised and disorderly, and John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford, requested an Act of Parliament in 1813 to regulate it, then commissioned Charles Fowler in 1830 to design the neo-classical market building that is the heart of Covent Garden today. The "greater part of the pillars" were built from granite quarried from Cairngall in today's Aberdeenshire. The contractor was William Cubitt and Company. Further buildings were added—the Floral hall, Charter Market, and in 1904 the Jubilee Market for foreign flowers was built by Cubitt and Howard.
By the end of the 1960s, traffic congestion was causing problems for the market, which required increasingly large lorries for deliveries and distribution. Redevelopment was considered, but protests from the Covent Garden Community Association in 1973 prompted the Home Secretary, Robert Carr, to give dozens of buildings around the square listed-building status, preventing redevelopment. The following year the market relocated to its new site, New Covent Garden Market, about three miles (5 km) south-west at Nine Elms. The central building re-opened as a shopping centre in 1980, with cafes, pubs, small shops and a craft market called the Apple Market. Among the first shops to relocate here was Benjamin Pollock's Toy Shop. Another market, the Jubilee Market, is held in the Jubilee Hall on the south side of the square. The market halls and several other buildings in Covent Garden have been owned by the property company Capital & Counties Properties (CapCo) since 2006.
(Wikipedia)
Earl of Bedford, zu. In Erfüllung des letzten Wunsches seines Vaters verlieh König Eduard VI. den noch verbliebenen Teil Covent Gardens 1547 an seinen Onkel Edward Seymour, 1. Duke of Somerset.
Earl of Bedford, neu entwickelt wurde.

The 103 235 locomotive has been reactivated and now used pulling regular Intercity trains between Münster and Stuttgart. Originally, I have planned to find a good place next to the track between Koblenz and Bingen and take a photograph of the train. However, after I've once seen the engine in Cologne Central Station and felt like beamed back 30 years in the past; after sitting in the back of the train and seeing the locomotive work in the narrow turns, it became clear: Being on the train is better than just taking pictures!

Drei Zielfotos, an drei Tagen.
Für mich ein Erfolg.
Actually, it is now my personal trilogy. Originally I wanted to hike from Kelheim to Weltenburg and photograph the most impressive places. So I wanted to walk in the footsteps of my childhood.
Last week the weather was unfortunately very bad and I was late, so I decided to be satisfied with a photo of the liberation hall.
Yesterday I finally made it to the Danube breakthrough and was able to take my finish photo despite pouring rain.
Today I finished in a third stage my project and could finish the long awaited picture, and still some others, of the monastery Weltenburg.
Three finish photos, on three days.
For me a success.
Chr.). Sehr sehenswert!
Actually, I went to Krumau or Český Krumlov by reason of Egon Schiele (1890 - 1918). Since I've seen his pictures of the "small town" in the Leopold Museum in Vienna, I had the desire for a visit to this beautiful town. And now I'm here and realize after a first tour, it was worth it. Cesky Krumlov is a city on the Vltava River in the South Bohemian Region and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (city founded around 1240 AD). Visit it!
---
I’d actually just meant to have a look, maybe try something on, but not buy anything. But it didn’t work out that way – I just couldn’t resist those Mary Jane pumps because they look so cute with the outfit.

Würzburg , the city on the River Main. I was on business there and just wanted to take a few photos of the Old Bridge in the sunset. On 100Stranger photos I was not mentally prepared .
As Linda and Christin (will be Stranger #9) me responded, if I could take a photo with their smartphone from them on the bridge. Of course I agreed.
Then, I also asked the same in return, if they would allow me to get a picture of them with my camera. I explained the project and off we went.
Both found the idea very funny, as it seemed to me. While I took the photos of Linda and Christin, both had a lot of fun and it was a lot of laughter . It was a very funny and spontaneous encounter. And both were very sympathetic !
Linda and Christin known each other since their 10 years together and have then visited a boarding school. Today they met to reminisce.
Thanks for the fun taking photographs has made all the best for the future.
This picture is #8 in my 100 Strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page

This beautiful triggerfish lives in the aquarium of the Duisburg zoo. These fish are native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They are up to 50 cm long. When this copy came close to the disc of the aquarium, the patience of the photographer was rewarded.
A gift from our son, who is actually not very skilled at handicrafts. Therefore, I appreciate it all the more that he knots his fingers for me.

Exotic Garden of Eze
Èze (French pronunciation: [ɛːz]; Occitan: Esa; Italian: Eza) is a seaside commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It is located on the French Riviera, 8.5 km (5.2 mi) to the northeast of Nice and 4.5 km (2.7 mi) to the west of Monaco. In 2018, Èze had 2,225 inhabitants known as Ezasques (masculine and feminine).
History
The area surrounding Èze was first populated 200 BC as a commune situated near Mount Bastide. The earliest occurrence of the name "Èze" can be found in the maritime books of Antonin as a bay called the St. Laurent of Èze.
A hoard of ancient Greek silver phialae dating from the 3rd century BC was found in Èze in the late nineteenth century and is now part of the British Museum's collection. The area was subsequently occupied by not only the Romans but also the Moors, who held the area for approximately 80 years until they were driven out by William of Provence in 973.
By 1388, Èze fell under the jurisdiction of the House of Savoy, who built up the town as a fortified stronghold because of its proximity to Nice. The history of Èze became turbulent several times in the next few centuries as French and Turkish troops seized the village under orders from Hayreddin Barbarossa in 1543, and Louis XIV destroyed the walls surrounding the city in 1706 in the War of the Spanish Succession. Finally in April 1860, Èze was designated as part of France by unanimous decision by the people of Èze.
Èze has been described as an "eagle's nest" because of its location on a high cliff 427 metres (1,401 ft) above sea level on the French Mediterranean. It is so high that the light ochre church within (Notre Dame de l’Assomption built in 1764) can be seen from afar. An Egyptian cross inside the church suggests the village's ancient roots, when the Phoenicians erected a temple there to honour the goddess Isis.
Traditionally, the territory of the Principality of Monaco was considered to begin in the Èze village (outskirts of Nice), running along the Mediterranean coast to Menton, on the present Italian border.
Geography
The commune of Èze is located on the French Riviera, extending from the Mediterranean Sea (Èze-sur-Mer) to the hilltop with a medieval village (Èze-Village). Saint-Laurent-d'Èze connects these villages.
Tourism
Èze, renowned tourist site on the French Riviera, is famous worldwide for the view of the sea from its hill top. Its Jardin botanique d'Èze is known for its collection of cacti and succulents, as well as its panoramic views.
Walt Disney first visited Èze Village in 1956 and had dinner in the Château de la Chèvre d'Or that was acquired by hotelier Robert Wolf three years before. It was Walt Disney who suggested to Robert Wolf to transform the château into a hotel. And so, Robert Wolf acquired and converted nearby village houses into guest rooms. This innovative expansion helped establish the property as one of the original six stops on Relais & Châteaux's prestigious "Route du Bonheur" in 1954.
The oldest building in the village is the Chapelle de la Sainte Croix and dates back to 1306. Members of the lay order of the White Penitents of Èze, in charge of giving assistance to plague victims, would hold their meetings there. The shape of the bell-turret is an indication that the village once belonged to the Republic of Genoa.
The small medieval village is famous for its beauty and charm. Its many shops, art galleries, hotels and restaurants attract a large number of tourists and honeymooners. As a result, Èze has become dubbed by some a village-musée, a "museum village", as few residents of local origin live here. From Èze there are gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Èze-Village can be reached by train from Nice via the train station Èze-sur-Mer or by bus from Nice. Close to the train station is a bus stop for buses bringing tourists to Èze-Village.
The motto of the village is the phrase Isis Moriendo Renascor (meaning "In death I am Reborn") and its emblem is a phoenix perched on a bone.
The local dialect (nearly extinct) is similar to the Monégasque language of the nearby Principality of Monaco; it is therefore related to Ligurian, but with some influences from the Occitan language.
Èze is one of sixteen villages grouped together by Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur tourist department as the Route des Villages Perchés (Route of Perched Villages). The others are: Aspremont, Carros, Castagniers, Coaraze, Colomars, Duranus, Falicon, La Gaude, Lantosque, Levens, La Roquette-sur-Var, Saint-Blaise, Saint-Jeannet, Tourrette-Levens and Utelle.

All irises do extremely well here . These are Spanish irises, a brown hybrid, the colors are unusual, have never been able to get the photos to show the exact color- a dark brown- it always turns out reddish.
The Spanish wild Iris are blue, this is a hybrid.

(EN) Less than two months after Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence I visited the new country for the first time. Anything had changed? Not really, with some minor exceptions: The place is now called “Republic of Kosovo”, it has its own flag and the capital Prishtina has a new pedestrian area (in general the city center looks much better now). Disappointingly there aren’t even signs at the borders marking the beginning of the “Republic of Kosovo”. Also political independence is still far away with the real power still being in the hands of UNMIK (United Nations Interim Mission in Kosovo). The government of Kosovo doesn’t even control all of the country, the North is still more or less governed from Belgrade and refuses to cooperate with the authorities in Prishtina.
Doch was hatte sich überhaupt verändert?

St. Stephen's Cathedral (more commonly known by its German title Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Stephen%27s_Cathedral,_Vienna
Sometimes you see things that can't really be.
The boys are in the film studios and have discovered the Costume Simulator. American gangsters 😎 cool!
Donny says, "You look like the Blues Brothers!"
Yinka explains: "I have no idea. We don't know the film. We are the HBD Bros because we all have Happy Birthday on the same day, January 1st. We don't actually know any American films. Good, Momo knows a few , but he's already 30. I'm 26, Abdi is 21 and Jafar is 18. When I watch films, it's Yoruba films on YouTube, they're very funny.
We don't celebrate Happy Birthday either, the only one we celebrate is Mawlid, the birthday of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Although this is also controversial, our Nabi Muhammad (ﷺ) was a humble man and did not want to celebrate himself. That's why some sheikhs say you shouldn't do that.
The four of us come from very different countries and very different cultures, but what we have in common: We are Muslims, the Qur'an and Sunnah are the same for everyone.
Although, I'm not entirely sure about Jafar. He's Shia, and Abdi says they're not real Muslims. But Jafar says this is Taliban propaganda, of course they are real Muslims!
Whatever, we'll figure it out. The main thing is that we stick together now, it's not that easy in such a strange country.
But the photo is cool, I sent it to my sisters as a prank... the comments from them were hilarious..." 😂😂

Now the cornflower blossom just as beautiful and therefore I interrupt our tour of the IGS for a short time. As the theme was made "from below" in my group 52 weeks, I actually thought at such a photo. But at that time it was wintertime.

Thousands of boys and girls sang the song "A house full of glory goes far beyond all lands (Gotteslob (Praise of God) is the title of the hymnbook authorized by the Catholic dioceses in Germany, Austria, South Tyrol and Liège. The present edition was introduced on 1 December 2013, succeeding the 1975 edition of the same name)," when the Archbishop of Vienna, Cardinal Dr. Theodor Innitzer, moved into St. Stephen's Cathedral to celebrate the Rosary.
The organizers had expected 300 participants, in fact, thousands of enthusiastic young people filled the cathedral to the last place, the estimated 8 to 10,000.
Also cathedral curator Josef Schoiswohl, the later diocesan bishop of Graz-Seckau and titular archbishop of Monteverde was there:
"It was a pure ecclesiastical devotion, there was not dropped a hint in the cathedral against the rulers. Dr. Stur preached. But the cardinal when faced with the presence of so many young people was so moved that he was unable to control his emotionality. He then spoke at the end even though it was not intended. He has moderately requested to confess the faith and to be faithful to it, to have courage. He really only addressed Christian virtues. Even if he did not say so, one could hear in this situation that he was by no means in agreement with the rulers."
The spontaneous address of the Cardinal was written down in shorthand. He said:
"It is a joyous and heartwarming picture you offer me when I see you head to head around me. Thank you for coming to the bishop in the old cathedral, on the one hand to give a confession of faith, a commitment to your old, German fathers faith, and on the other hand, that you have come to force you to stay strong and firm in this great, but also difficult and stern time. "
Wolfgang Müller-Hartburg:
"I can still hear him directly. He said you've been deprived of so much lately, you've been bereaved of your unions, your communities, your schools, your uniforms, your flags. But one thing can not be taken away from you, your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. One is your Lord, Jesus Christ, one is your guide, Jesus Christ is your guide, if you keep faith with him, you will never be lost."
Norbert Ortel:
"Above all, I remember this sentence, 'Christ is your leader', because all of us were with our jaws to the floor, for it was a crime against the German Reich to say anything like that at the time."
Among the young people in the cathedral, as a 22-year-old cleric from the Scottish Abbey, was Fr. Sigismund Pawlowsky, later director of the Schottengymnasium:
"It was a pleasure to see that this was kind of a compensation to this disappointment that in April these giant bills of the bishops suddenly hung on all the advertising pillars. Now we thought we could trust the cardinal, this arose under pressure, and so we thought, maybe that will be fine. "
Before the plebiscite on April 10, 1938, the bishops had, as is generally known, called to affirm the annexation of Austria to the German Reich.
The cardinal himself tried to find excuses for it. In "trusting in the grace of the Holy Spirit," he asked for the trust of young people:
"Perhaps some of you, dear young Catholics, have not understood everything the bishops have done in recent months. You know what it is. But we can be witnesses that it is very important to the bishops to do only what they could do with the best of their knowledge and belief, that they are aware that they have a heavy responsibility before the Lord God. "
Norbert Ortel:
"We were thrilled with his speech, also because he moved away from his previous behavior."
With the song "Glory to the Lord" the Rosary was completed.
"We want to see our bishop!"
All initially left the cathedral quietly.
But National Socialist provocateurs of the GESTAPO control center Vienna had mingled with the adolescents.
Er sagte u.a.:
Alle verließen zunächst still den Dom.

The encounter with Idiane was caused by a bottle, better said triggered by the shadow of a bottle.
On my way home I was passing the monument at Max-Joseph-Platz and saw some people sitting there enjoying the late afternoon sun on the warm dark stone of the socket. I decided to take a picture of this peaceful scenery with my 85mm lens and tried to get a harmonic & symmetric composition with a close framing from the appropriate distance. Without a tripod I needed several sets of images using the bracketing function to get the desired result with respect to brightness, sharpness, orientation and without unwanted persons or cars in the composition.
During the last set of three captures - triggered by the selftimer - the person in the middle lifted a bottle and this movement gave a nice detail with the shadow on the stone.
Therefore I went over to show this unexpectedly snapshot to her and asked for permission to publish the photo on a Internet platform like flickr. So an entertaining talk about photography, architecture and her inclination to vintage objects and retro design arose and I had the opportunity to introduce the "100 strangers"-project to her. Thereupon I could take a few portrait photos of her and we optimized the composition step by step to get a relaxed posture without posing. The facade of the former "Residenz-Post" gave a nice blurred background with a matching colour combination.
Idiane comes from Brazil as a tourist and was visiting friends in Munich. She spent only a few days here and I am glad to show her portrait in my personal photo project "100 Strangers".
Idiane, I hope you enjoyed your visit in Europe and Germany, especially Munich. Thank You for participating in my photo project and the nice contact. I hope the chosen image is your favourite, too - it was hard to decide which one to select.

In May 2007, the end of service for the class 4010 multiple units was approaching. One of the last places they were still in use was the Pyhrn Railway. On a beautiful spring evening, I took a follow-up shot of the 4010.016 on its journey as IC 601 from Linz to Graz. At that time, there was also the episode of particularly bizarre train names in Austria. IC 601, for example, was called ‘HOLLYWOOD MEGAPLEX KINO’. It couldn't have been more inappropriate, but today we just smile about it.

Vernissage der ersten gemeinsamen Ausstellung von Ali Görmez (50 FACES & MORE) und Wolfgang Brückner (STRUKTUR-
FORSCHER) im Waldorf Astoria Berlin (19. Etage) - 27.

* Wolfgang Brückner *
Selbst große prunkvolle Bauwerke verlieren in ihren Innenräumen schnell an Ausstrahlung.

* Wolfgang Brückner *
Khaosan rd.- Bangkok
(Actually, here should be written Light writing is not a crime. Yes, what can I say the beer tasted good to me:)
Every minute, thousands of backpackers, tourists and locals pass through this street in Bangkok.
Since our accommodation was not far away it often attracted us here.
The police block the street in the evening so that the crowds can cross the 400 meters long road undisturbed here.
Whether for shopping, celebrating or whatever, there is something from everything.
The idea of light painting came to me rather by chance and was born out of wet-spirited fun...
The whole thing was a bit tricky and I would not have gone through it alone, so I was all the more glad that my brother stood behind my camera, the cable release trigger in his hand, the tripod secured.
Funny and extremely entertaining was the fact that behind the camera was a huge crowd who all wanted to know what the guy with the lamp in his hand in front of the camera does.
Unfortunately, I needed a lot more experiments than I liked with this relatively simple Light Writing, but to the delight of all the watching people who found it very entertaining that I either forgot a letter, or else what;)

(Eigentlich müsste hier geschrieben stehen Light writing is not a crime.

Ok, there really is no Jagdhaus-"Pass". But you could name that street from the villages of Wingeshausen up to Jagdhaus and then down to Fleckenberg very well as a pass. From the both valley villages you transfer from the Eder river valley in the Wittgenstein County into the Lenne river valley of the Sauerland region.
Right here, a bit above Wingeshausen you can have this (allround) really nice view. A bit further on in the climb the Wisent-World Wittgenstein is located (a game park).
As you can see there were also beautiful sunny times with dry roads on this day full of hard rain showers and even hail and thunderstorm in the last third of my ride. Cold rain - all too common in this years middle german month of august.
---

The tendency of Chinese thought is to seek out dynamic functional activity rather than to look for the fixed somatic structures that perform the activities. Because of this, the Chinese have no system of anatomy comparable to that of the West."

Shen - The Spirit
Shen is actual untranslatable. Terms such as spirit or consciousness of its significance come next.
Let us imagine that the essence (jing) as the source of life is the expression of an instinctive process, Qi. Implementation into activity and exercise, then Shen describes the human spirit, the duch penetrates these two aspects of energy and revitalizes Essence and Qi are the basis for the Shen. This form of energy is found only in humans.
They make up our highly individual character and allows us to think, to discern and to learn from life. In addition, we can convey the experience of Shen of oneness with the universe and the divine.
Is the essence of the quality of her most yin and a material point of the densest energy aspect, then the Shen Yang: Easy, Fine, active. Together with Qi, it would be classified roughly in the middle between the two, these forms of energy are referred to by the Chinese as the Three Treasures.
Thus their preciousness is highlighted must be cultivated.
According to the Chinese, the Shen "resides in the heart", specifically in "the blood of the heart". Here he can find peace. In the Western sense, we are against accustomed to imagine the spirit localized in the head.
Even when the Shen is the finest form of energy of man, he has an energy substance still on a material aspect.
Here the difference in thinking between East and West is especially clear: matter and spirit (Shen and essence) are inextricably linked to the Chinese. In short: a separation of body and mind does not exist in them!

Shen - Der Geist

At first striking in this example is the fact that there is no indication of a manufacturer. But obviously it is about a Swiss export model whereby there is a Swiss cross within a circle each on both upper cover plates.
However, the way how the serial number 797761 is applied at the front reminds to a great degree of exports by Carl Zeiss Jena. And also the comparison with an authentic example (see www.flickr.com/photos/franksbinoculars/20624541645) confirms this first impression - an export D.F. 6x originally by Zeiss! So actually the question remains why do the upper cover plates show exactly this kind of inscription.
Interesting is also the comparison of both examples with regards to their design details. According to H. T. Seeger, Zeiss-Feldstecher 1. Auflage 2010, the serial number 797761 of this example is within a series of D.F. 6x24 and points to a production in 1917 - just like the slightly younger reference model. But in the latter one there are three screws for fixation of the cover plates while in this example only one screw can achieve this. It is an established fact that at Zeiss the change from three to one screw occurred in 1917. This is another strong evidence that this example is about a binocular made by Carl Zeiss Jena.

Main building of the Kunsthistorisches Museum at Maria-Theresa-Square
The Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM abbreviated) is an art museum in Vienna. It is one of the largest and most important museums in the world. It was opened in 1891 and 2012 visited of 1.351.940 million people.
The museum
The Kunsthistorisches Museum is with its opposite sister building, the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum), the most important historicist large buildings of the Ringstrasse time. Together they stand around the Maria Theresa square, on which also the Maria Theresa monument stands. This course spans the former glacis between today's ring road and 2-line, and is forming a historical landmark that also belongs to World Heritage Site Historic Centre of Vienna.
History
Archduke Leopold Wilhelm in his Gallery
The Museum came from the collections of the Habsburgs, especially from the portrait and armor collections of Ferdinand of Tyrol, the collection of Emperor Rudolf II (most of which, however scattered) and the art collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm into existence. Already In 1833 asked Joseph Arneth, curator (and later director) of the Imperial Coins and Antiquities Cabinet, bringing together all the imperial collections in a single building .
Architectural History
The contract to build the museum in the city had been given in 1858 by Emperor Franz Joseph. Subsequently, many designs were submitted for the ring road zone. Plans by August Sicard von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Null planned to build two museum buildings in the immediate aftermath of the Imperial Palace on the left and right of the Heroes' Square (Heldenplatz). The architect Ludwig Förster planned museum buildings between the Schwarzenberg Square and the City Park, Martin Ritter von Kink favored buildings at the corner Währingerstraße/ Scots ring (Schottenring), Peter Joseph, the area Bellariastraße, Moritz von Loehr the south side of the opera ring, and Ludwig Zettl the southeast side of the grain market (Getreidemarkt).
From 1867, a competition was announced for the museums, and thereby set their current position - at the request of the Emperor, the museum should not be too close to the Imperial Palace, but arise beyond the ring road. The architect Carl von Hasenauer participated in this competition and was able the at that time in Zürich operating Gottfried Semper to encourage to work together. The two museum buildings should be built here in the sense of the style of the Italian Renaissance. The plans got the benevolence of the imperial family. In April 1869, there was an audience with of Joseph Semper at the Emperor Franz Joseph and an oral contract was concluded, in July 1870 was issued the written order to Semper and Hasenauer.
Crucial for the success of Semper and Hasenauer against the projects of other architects were among others Semper's vision of a large building complex called "Imperial Forum", in which the museums would have been a part of. Not least by the death of Semper in 1879 came the Imperial Forum not as planned for execution, the two museums were built, however.
Construction of the two museums began without ceremony on 27 November 1871 instead. Semper moved to Vienna in the sequence. From the beginning, there were considerable personal differences between him and Hasenauer, who finally in 1877 took over sole construction management. 1874, the scaffolds were placed up to the attic and the first floor completed, built in 1878, the first windows installed in 1879, the Attica and the balustrade from 1880 to 1881 and built the dome and the Tabernacle. The dome is topped with a bronze statue of Pallas Athena by Johannes Benk.
The lighting and air conditioning concept with double glazing of the ceilings made the renunciation of artificial light (especially at that time, as gas light) possible, but this resulted due to seasonal variations depending on daylight to different opening times .

Empire
The Kunsthistorisches Museum was on 17 October 1891 officially opened by Emperor Franz Joseph I. Since 22 October 1891 , the museum is accessible to the public. Two years earlier, on 3 November 1889, the collection of arms, Arms and Armour today, had their doors open. On 1 January 1890 the library service resumed its operations. The merger and listing of other collections of the Highest Imperial Family from the Upper and Lower Belvedere, the Hofburg Palace and Ambras in Tyrol will need another two years.
189, the farm museum was organized in seven collections with three directorates:
Directorate of coins, medals and antiquities collection
The Egyptian Collection
The Antique Collection
The coins and medals collection
Management of the collection of weapons, art and industrial objects
Weapons collection
Collection of industrial art objects
Directorate of Art Gallery and Restaurieranstalt (Restoration Office)
Collection of watercolors, drawings, sketches, etc.

Library
Very soon the room the Court Museum (Hofmuseum) for the imperial collections was offering became too narrow. To provide temporary help, an exhibition of ancient artifacts from Ephesus in the Theseus Temple was designed. However, additional space had to be rented in the Lower Belvedere.
1914, after the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne, his " Estonian Forensic Collection " passed to the administration of the Court Museum. This collection, which emerged from the art collection of the house of d' Este and world travel collection of Franz Ferdinand, was placed in the New Imperial Palace since 1908. For these stocks, the present collection of old musical instruments and the Museum of Ethnology emerged.
The First World War went by, apart from the oppressive economic situation without loss. The farm museum remained during the five years of war regularly open to the public.
Until 1919 the K.K. Art Historical Court Museum was under the authority of the Oberstkämmereramt (head chamberlain office) and belonged to the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. The officials and employees were part of the royal household.
First Republic
The transition from monarchy to republic, in the museum took place in complete tranquility. On 19 November 1918 the two imperial museums on Maria Theresa Square were placed under the state protection of the young Republic of German Austria. Threatening to the stocks of the museum were the claims raised in the following weeks and months of the "successor states" of the monarchy as well as Italy and Belgium on Austrian art collection. In fact, it came on 12th February 1919 to the violent removal of 62 paintings by armed Italian units. This "art theft" left a long time trauma among curators and art historians.
It was not until the Treaty of Saint-Germain of 10 September 1919, providing in Article 195 and 196 the settlement of rights in the cultural field by negotiations. The claims of Belgium, Czechoslovakia, and Italy again could mostly being averted in this way. Only Hungary, which presented the greatest demands by far, was met by more than ten years of negotiation in 147 cases.
On 3 April 1919 was the expropriation of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine by law and the acquisition of its property, including the "Collections of the Imperial House" , by the Republic. Of 18 June 1920 the then provisional administration of the former imperial museums and collections of Este and the secular and clergy treasury passed to the State Office of Internal Affairs and Education, since 10 November 1920, the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Education. A few days later it was renamed the Art History Court Museum in the "Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna State", 1921 "Kunsthistorisches Museum" . Of 1st January 1921 the employees of the museum staff passed to the state of the Republic.
Through the acquisition of the former imperial collections owned by the state, the museum found itself in a complete new situation. In order to meet the changed circumstances in the museum area, designed Hans Tietze in 1919 the "Vienna Museum program". It provided a close cooperation between the individual museums to focus at different houses on main collections. So dominated exchange, sales and equalizing the acquisition policy in the interwar period. Thus resulting until today still valid collection trends. Also pointing the way was the relocation of the weapons collection from 1934 in its present premises in the New Castle, where since 1916 the collection of ancient musical instruments was placed.
With the change of the imperial collections in the ownership of the Republic the reorganization of the internal organization went hand in hand, too. Thus the museum was divided in 1919 into the
Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection (with the Oriental coins)
Collection of Classical Antiquities
Collection of ancient coins

Count Philipp Ludwig Wenzel Sinzendorf according to Rigaud. Clarisse 1948 by Baroness de Rothschildt "dedicated" to the memory of Baron Alphonse de Rothschildt; restituted to the Rothschilds in 1999, and in 1999 donated by Bettina Looram Rothschild, the last Austrian heiress.
With the "Anschluss" of Austria to the German Reich all Jewish art collections such as the Rothschilds were forcibly "Aryanised". Collections were either "paid" or simply distributed by the Gestapo at the museums. This resulted in a significant increase in stocks. But the KHM was not the only museum that benefited from the linearization. Systematically looted Jewish property was sold to museums, collections or in pawnshops throughout the empire.
After the war, the museum struggled to reimburse the "Aryanised" art to the owners or their heirs. They forced the Rothschild family to leave the most important part of their own collection to the museum and called this "dedications", or "donations". As a reason, was the export law stated, which does not allow owners to perform certain works of art out of the country. Similar methods were used with other former owners. Only on the basis of international diplomatic and media pressure, to a large extent from the United States, the Austrian government decided to make a change in the law (Art Restitution Act of 1998, the so-called Lex Rothschild). The art objects were the Rothschild family refunded only in the 1990s.
The Kunsthistorisches Museum operates on the basis of the federal law on the restitution of art objects from the 4th December 1998 (Federal Law Gazette I, 181 /1998) extensive provenance research. Even before this decree was carried out in-house provenance research at the initiative of the then archive director Herbert Haupt. This was submitted in 1998 by him in collaboration with Lydia Grobl a comprehensive presentation of the facts about the changes in the inventory levels of the Kunsthistorisches Museum during the Nazi era and in the years leading up to the State Treaty of 1955, an important basis for further research provenance.
The two historians Susanne Hehenberger and Monika Löscher are since 1st April 2009 as provenance researchers at the Kunsthistorisches Museum on behalf of the Commission for Provenance Research operating and they deal with the investigation period from 1933 to the recent past.
The museum today
Today the museum is as a federal museum, with 1st January 1999 released to the full legal capacity - it was thus the first of the state museums of Austria, implementing the far-reaching self-financing. It is by far the most visited museum in Austria with 1.3 million visitors (2007).
The Kunsthistorisches Museum is under the name Kunsthistorisches Museum and Museum of Ethnology and the Austrian Theatre Museum with company number 182081t since 11 June 1999 as a research institution under public law of the Federal virtue of the Federal Museums Act, Federal Law Gazette I/115/1998 and the Museum of Procedure of the Kunsthistorisches Museum and Museum of Ethnology and the Austrian Theatre Museum, 3 January 2001, BGBl II 2/ 2001, in force since 1 January 2001, registered.
In fiscal 2008, the turnover was 37.185 million EUR and total assets amounted to EUR 22.204 million. In 2008 an average of 410 workers were employed.

Südafrika - Route 62 / Ronnies Sex Shop
Route 62 is a tourist route in South Africa that meanders between Cape Town, Oudtshoorn, the Garden Route, and Port Elizabeth, offering the scenic alternative to the N2 highway. Route 62 is named for the R62 provincial route, which it follows from Montagu to Humansdorp, but the tourist route extends further along other highways to Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
Also known as the Wine Route, Route 62 leads through the wine-growing areas of Wellington, Tulbagh, Worcester, Robertson and the Klein Karoo and is thus one of the longest wine routes in the world. Activities along Route 62 include wine tours, safari drives, tribal art, cultural tours, museums, hiking, mountain climbing, 4x4 routes, canoeing, horse riding, ostrich riding, fishing, caving, and even skydiving.
Route 62 spans a distance of 850 km from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.
Between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth you will be able to stop in the following towns:
Montagu - with its thermal baths and fruit trees
Barrydale and Ladismith - beautiful towns, extremely popular amongst hikers
Zoar and Amalienstein - former mission stations
Calitzdorp - the centre of the South African Port wine production
Oudtshoorn - South African centre of Ostrich breeding
Robertson - The valley of wine and roses

Ronnie's Sex Shop
No, you will not get sex here. Ronnie's Sex Shop is the result of a friendly prank. This fun pub has become a regular pit-stop on the R62 in the Klein Karoo for bikers, local farmers and just about anyone in the area.
If you don't believe the notion that ‘sex sells' then this small pub in the Karoo will definitely prove you wrong. The story goes that Frank Ronald (Ronnie) Price bought a tiny farmer's cottage on a remote section of the R62. His aim was to open a farm stall, selling fresh produce to the passing trade. He painted the name ‘Ronnies Shop' on the side of the building, but business didn't get off to a cracking good start.
Then one day, his friends decided for a laugh, they would add the word ‘Sex' to the name, making it read ‘Ronnies Sex Shop'. Pretty soon this irresistible sign brought in loads of passers-by, and Ronnie's initial irritation was transformed as he began to see the business opportunity his establishment's newfound popularity presented. On the advice of these very same friends, Ronnie opened a pub... and the rest, as they say, is history.
Today Ronnie's Sex Shop is one of the most popular route 62 pubs and bikers, travellers and holidaymakers make a point of popping into Ronnie's for a pint or two, something to eat and a photograph of themselves next to the ‘Ronnies Sex Shop' sign. You can also get something to eat.

One of the most impressive gothic sacred buildings in Prague, built between the 14th century and the beginning of the 16th century. At the end of the 17th century the interior was rebuilt in Baroque style. The church is an extensive gallery for Gothic, early Baroque and Renaissance works. The most famous among them are the altarpieces of Karl Škréta and the tombstone of the astronomer Tycho Brahe. The present organ from 1673 is the oldest in Prague.
At this point stood already in the 11th century an older Romanesque church, a small one. It was a hospital church for foreign traders who came to the Ungelt. This one was replaced in the second half of the 13th century by an early-Gothic construction which was about two-thirds smaller than that of today's church. Inside preached to his death the critic of church morality Konrad Waldhauser and also Johann Militsch of Kremsier. In the first half of the 14th century, today's high-Gothic church was founded, which was given the function of the main church of the old town and the parish church. Concurrently with the construction of the new church, the old church was gradually abandoned. On the building had a considerable influence the builder's hut of Matthias of Arras and above all of Peter Parler. To Parler, in particular, remembers the amply decorated front window at a height of 28 m, the window tracery of the main nave, the presbytery and the magnificent north portal. At the beginning of the fifteenth century still the towers, the gables, and the truss were missing. In the Hussite period, the Tyn Church dominated a group of Huss supporters with Jakobus of Mies at the head, and since 1427, the chosen Hussite Archbishop, Johann von Rokitzan, has been serving here as priest, who has also found here his last resting place. After the end of the Hussite wars, the building was to be roofed, but the wood needed for the truss was used for the construction of the gallows for Johann Roháč of Dauba and his 50 mates, who after the conquest of the last bastion of the hussites by Sigismund have been executed on Old Town Square. The roof was then 20 years later built with wood provided for the construction of the solemn grandstands for the wedding of the Bohemian King Ladislaus Postumus with the French princess Magdalena. The wedding did not take place, because Ladislaus Postumus died. The church was completed under the reign of Georg von Podiebrad, who was elected king in the nearby Old Town Town Hall. In the times of his reign the gable of the main nave and the northern tower were built. On the pediment, at the request of Johann von Rokitzan, his statue "of the Hussit king" was placed, and beneath a gilded giant chalice, the symbol of the communion under both figures. The portrait of the king was then replaced in 1626 by the Madonna figure of Kaspar Bechteler, and of the chalice was made the Madonna's halo. The southern tower dates from 1511.
The towers are 80 meters high. The northern tower is called Eve, the southern tower (about 1 m higher) Adam. They were built at that time from an advanced scaffolding, its floor was laid on beams that were stuck in the openings which were at regular intervals inserted in the walls. It was thus possible to work both internally and externally. In 1679, the church burned down, the main nave was then lowered and Baroque-like vaulted.
The church is a three-nave basilica with towers at the western front and with three choirs at each nave on the east side. It has admirable dimensions: length 52 m, width 28 m, height of the nave 44 m and of the lateral naves 24 m.
The church is an extensive gallery of Gothic, Renaissance and early Baroque buildings. Of the sculptures, the Parler-Portal of the Teyn-Alley of 1390 is the most significant one, decorated with tympanum, on which can be found scenes from the suffering of Christ. The Tympanon original is now housed in the National Gallery. The gothic pewter basin from the year 1414 (the oldest in Prague) stands out from the interior, adorned with relief apostles, then the Gothic stone carving and finally two Gothic benches with consoles in the form of crowned heads. On the pillars between the main nave and the left aisle is the late-Gothic canopy of Matthias Rejsek from the year 1493 (originally on the tomb of Bishop Lucian of Mirandola, ordaining priests of Kalixtin).
The main altar with the paintings of Karel Škréta is an illustration of the early Baroque portal architecture from 1649. The famous Gothic sculpture of the Madonna with Christ Child, the so-called Madonna of Teyn dating from around 1420, stands at the neo-gothic altar on the wall in the right side aisle. The Calvary, the work of the master of the Tyn crucifixion from the beginning of the 15th century, is at the Baroque altar at the end of the left aisle. Fourteen large canvases of the Cross painted 1854 František Čermák. There are 19 altars in the church, in whose emergence and ornamentation Franz Maximilian Kaňka, Karel Škréta, Jan Georg Bendl, Joseph Adalbert Hellich, Ferdinand Maximilian Brokoff, Johann Georg Heinsch and others took part. At the beginning of the year 2000 the restorers discovered in the church a rarely preserved Gothic fresco from the end of the 14th century which was hidden behind one of the altars in the north side nave. On it Saint Jerome is depicted with a lion and the client of the painting.
The local organ is the oldest in Prague. It was built by German master builder Hans Heinrich Mundt and his assistants in 1673. The organ was restored in the Rhineland town of Bonn and returned to the church in 2000.
The Tyn Church prides itself on possessing a large number of preserved tombstones. About 60 are known, some are unknown, others have been removed from here once when the new ground was laid. Among the best known is the tombstone of Tycho Brahe, the Danish astronomer at the imperial court of Rudolph II from 1601. The next grave belongs to Wenzel Berka of Dauba, the commander and councilor at the Bohemian chamber, passing away in 1575. It is one of the most succeeded renaissance portrait tombs with an unusual detail picture of a man in harness. Legend has it that in the church was also buried the heart of Georg von Podiebrad, while his body rests in the tomb of the Bohemian kings on the Prague Castle. Interesting is the tombstone of a boy - a renegade from the Jewish religion of Simon Abeles, who wanted to be baptized. His father but preferred to kill him, and then hanged himself. Because he actually died for faith, a pompous funeral was held, in which all people of Prague took part, and here he was subsequently buried. In 1631, the heads of the twelve of twenty-seven Bohemian lords decapitated at the Old Town Square in 1621 were taken down from the shameful cage on the Old Town Bridge Tower and buried in the Tyn Church. Since then, they were often searched in vain there. There are also many children's tombstones, including also a mother with six daughters and six sons. Many tombstones are damaged due to the entering, because standing on the tombstone once was not regarded as a dishonor to the deceased. On the contrary, it has been believed that it helps against toothache.
Since 1973, the total reconstruction of the Tyn Church has taken place. Since the German occupation, the bell tower in the north tower was yawning empty. The new 960 kg bronze bell from the workshop of Manoušek was put into operation only at Easter 1992. The bell is consecrated to the Pieta and Saint Anastasia of Bohemia. On the 19th February 2008, three new bells were installed: Johann von Nepomuk (more than 300 kg), Ludmilla (more than 500 kg) and Archangel Gabriel (2.5 tons), which have been created in the workshop of the Dietrich family - translated into Czech language, Dytrych) in Brodek near Prerau.
The Tyn Church is a national cultural monument.
