As director of the New York Institute of Musical Art, Damrosch was among the foremost musical educators in America. In 1924, the Institute of Musical Art merged with the Juilliard Graduate School to form what in 1946 was renamed the Juilliard School of Music.

I'm reading "Julliard, A History" by Andrea Olmstead. Available cheap from Hamilton.com. Since music education was my profession, it's interesting to me to have a look at the old conservatory method.

This photo was taken at Brookside Elementary, my field experience this year for the Special Education Program. Finding my passion for Special Education has given me a drive I never had before to do better and be my best. Students lives count on me learning all that I can learn and then later teaching that knowledge to them. Once I graduate college, I hope to become a teacher and do everything I can to shape the lives of kiddos everywhere. Being a leader is something I've always felt I have been good at and doing this in the field of education and helping students reach their full potential is something I can't wait to do.

Recruiters from the Mechanicsburg RS hosted an Educator’s Breakfast Sept. 30 at the Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, Pa. This breakfast was a part of the weeklong events of the Harrisburg Battalion’s Army Rivalry Tour for the football game Red Land at Cedar Cliff on Oct. Army Rivalry Tour provides local recruiting stations with leads, and develops and cultivates espirt de corps within the school’s student body and staff. It also gives the community an added motivation to attend the game to support their high school’s football team. It can also provide recruiters the opportunity to recognize the weekly winners of the battalion-sponsored Army Iron Man and Army Coach Competitions. Food for this breakfast was provided by the Crimson Frog in New Cumberland, Pa. U.S. Army photo by Christine June.
