(BREVARD, NC) - Scholars Recognition Evening is the height of the school year and student's career, as they prepare and await their graduation. Congratulations to our many sophomore, junior, and senior "TC Scholars," scholarship recipients, and their families who enjoyed a celebration of dedication, achievement, and community on May 17, 2018, at Brevard High School.
The pinnacle of the evening, owing to their academic success, is when graduating TC Scholars are asked to call up their most "Memorable Educators" to the stage and present tokens of their appreciation. We honor and remember all these great educators, from the classroom and laboratory to the field, track, and even the SRO's office. Thank you teachers, and congratulations on your well-earned recognition by those who matter most: our students!

Barbara (Mueller) Sawrey ’73 and Thea (McAfee) Wilson ’75 as Outstanding Educators and celebrated Dorin Jackson ’10 and Sarah Piscsalko ’13 as Jill Herrick Graduate Education Scholarship recipients. The four individuals were lauded March 25 at the 2018 Celebration of Outstanding Educators.

Every year, the College of Education hosts a back-to-school thank-you reception for Pullman-area educators, in particular the Pullman School District, with whom the college has had a special relationship for a number of years. This year's event took place at South Fork on August 22.

Former Celtic Dana Barros, Boston Mamas blogger Christine Koh and Kiss 108 radio personality Billy Costa were educators for a day at the Parlin School in Everett on Nov. 21, 2013. The honorary position gives community members a chance to become involved in American Education Week and to see the opportunities and challenges in public schools.
Educators in Waterloo, Iowa rallied to pledgeto teach the truth and to protest a bill signed by Governor Kim Reynolds that bans the teaching of so-called “divisive concepts” including that theUnited States or Iowa are systemically racist on June 12, 2021. The event was part of a national day of action organized by the Zinn Education Project and Black LivesMatter at School.
