Every year, the College of Education hosts a back-to-school thank-you reception for Pullman-area educators, in particular the Pullman School District, with whom the college has had a special relationship for a number of years. This year's event took place at South Fork on August 22.

Terell Stafford teaches an Educator Track class: Teaching Improvisation II. Educators often say that improvisation is the most challenging aspect of jazz to teach. These sessions will give you specific information you can use in your classroom.. A lab combo will be there to demonstrate. Educators are also welcome to play, but are not required to.

The annual Retiree Reception was held at 4:00 pm April 25 at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts on Patterson Street. VLREA invited all teachers at the public schools in Valdosta, Lowndes and Echols counties and educators at VSU, GMC and Wiregrass. The reception is held to honor each of the local public educators who are retiring at the end of the school year or those who have retired during the present school year. The reception for retirees has been held since the early 1990s.
Educators enjoy a special after-hours viewing of the exhibits at the National Archives while learning about resources and workshops for National History Day. They include options for video conferencing programs into their classroom, DocsTeach online resources and lesson plans, Learning Labs, field trip planning, and more during an Educators Open House at the National Archives in Washington, DC, on September 13, 2018.
