The Illinois DREAM TEAM training took place on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at Dominican University. This training was for students, counselors, teachers, and community leaders who want to learn more about the Illinois DREAM Act AND how undocumented students can prepare for college. We learned about the Illinois DREAM Act, the Federal DREAM Act, how DREAM students can find scholarships, and more.

More than 700 applicants attended the DMPS Educator Fair at the Iowa Events Center on Saturday, January 11. The district plans to fill approximately 200 positions for next school year. Thank you to everyone who attended, and for the great work that went into another successful career fair!

Description: Educator and founder of the Palmer Memorial Institute in Sedalia, North Carolina, Charlotte Eugenia Hawkins Brown was active in the National Council of Negro Women, the N.C. Teachers Association, etc., and was the first black woman to serve on the national board of the YWCA. She lectured and wrote about black women, education, and race relations.

Founder of Creative Living Services, Michael wears many hats — percussionist, public speaker, group facilitator, educator, author, songsmith, bard, and mentor. His 25 years of experience in “metaphoric learning” — using simulations, games, and activities to create fun, high impact situations in which people discover their own skills and inspiration as learners — led him to co-found Fire Tribe Hawai‘i Gatherings, a quarterly festival dedicated to collaborative creativity. His new solo live-looping show, Rhythms of Change, will debut at Honolulu’s Fringe Festival. Michael also offers Playful Percussion team-building workshops.
Rebecca Antinozzi is a well-rounded educator with a zest for life, learning and teaching. This New York resident stays active. She loves tennis, traveling, dancing, hiking and other activities that allow her to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
