The special HSM2 preview edition of People magazine said the character, Zeke, makes eclairs for Sharpay in the movie, so we chose to make these instead of having birthday cake. They were yummy, but we never did see them in the movie. Oh, well....at least I know how to make eclairs now - surprisingly easy.
Maybe should have read the mailing list groups.google.com/group/phonegap/browse_thread/thread/4f4...
This is my version of @spicyicecream's chocolate eclair. I found the original photo so yummy and decided to have a try at going hyperrealistic with it. Fairly difficult (for me - noob) but all the same, drawing this was so enjoyable :)

We were shopping at the Nugget Market in town, and the checkers were discussing how there was a woman in the wine dept. that needed help. None of them felt comfortable enough to go help her, so I said, "I'll do it", and went over and had a nice chat with her. She was looking for a specific bottle, and since it was on sale, it was easy to find.
Anyway, the young checker who came to help was so grateful - he asked Jeff what my favorite dessert was, then ran over to the bakery and boxed up this eclair. He gave it to me and said, "Thanks, Zann, for helping out!"
I love that store. And this town. The eclair is pretty good, too! They make real pastry cream and they don't use the fake stuff that tastes and looks like hair conditioner.
Eclair silvering over time. Shocking isn't it?

A French breakfast at a very popular French Patisserie in Ho Chi Minh City - 'Une Journee a Paris'. My mate, came seeking French pastries, which he has a severe weakness for.
The French, who was the former colonial master of Vietnam, left behind a great baking legacy. The Baguettes of Vietnam are to to die for, even those cheap ones one may get off the street stalls! It is no surprise that we are able to find French cafes and restaurants in Vietnam with ease, and they usually turn out to be a lot more economical than the chi chi places we get back home in Singapore!
Lovely eclair - puffy, buttery and oh-so-melt in the mouth. Exquisite!
