Welcome to the internet home of the Fernwood Road Cafe. This beautiful little spot on Salt Spring Island is the dreamchild of Jennifer and David Shaw. Transplants from North Vancouver (though Jennifer has a long family history with Salt Spring), Jennifer and David purchased the Fernwood Road Cafe on October 1, 2011 and have been living the Island dream since.

Coming from a background as a lawyer, a custom cake designer (yes, those are wildly different professions) and years of coffee education at Starbucks, Jennifer brings a history of business and a desire to give 110% to everything that she does. Whether it’s making your favorite non-fat, half-sweet, decaf, extra hot, wet vanilla cappuccino or serving up a slice of her Grandma’s Secret Recipe lemon cake, Jennifer strives to do her best.

His background in the travel industry (Evergreen Tours) and many years of working for Islanders’ favorite transportation company, gives David a unique perspective on Island life and the challenges of a community reliant on tourism and restricted transportation links. David’s easygoing manner hides his serious side, but there is nothing more serious that making sure that every patron at the cafe has an enjoyable experience.

At Fernwood Road Cafe, we are here for the long run. We strive to be a part of the community and are always looking for new ways to bring people together to talk, play and expand their horizons.

Atka is an Arctic Gray ambassador wolf (canis lupus) from the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, New York (www.nywolf.org). He came for a visit to the Spirit Gallery (www.spiritgallerytattoo.com/) in New London, CT, to be photographed and to just hang out. He is a beautiful animal and has an easygoing disposition (unless you make noises with your camera bag).

Shu pu-erh made from Burmese material, fermented in Menghai in 2012. The trees are 70-100 years old from Nam Pa Ka Mountain in Myanmar.

This is a classic matured ripe pu-erh tea from trees, the typical Menghai fermentation. The flavor is smooth and clear: walnut, sandalwood, old wooden chest, some baked milk.

Judging by the break of the cake, they used mainly third leaves. You can also find buds with the top leaves, but there are few of them.

The fermentation is in the old school style, non-deep, gentle, and the taste is very classic, intended for the Chinese market. No fish, peat moss or compost.

The infusion is transparent, perfectly smooth on the throat.

In the aftertaste, one can easily catch a menthol note, which is not a rare find in shou pu-erhs of such profile. It finishes the flavor picture and adds a woody nobility.

Bottom line: a decent and easygoing tea, standing aside from the newfangled plantation pu-erhs, where "oil" is mixed in half with caffeine.

Chun Xian introduces into a tranquil state of tea fullness, just the way we like it. One can drink it a lot without the risk of catching a caffeine rush.

Given its low price, this shou is a great everyday option for lovers of Chinese tea classics.

In 2002 Spirit became the first Montana Grizzly to be placed at the Center. As a six-year-old, mother of two, Spirit was known by Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists as "Easy" because of her easygoing personality and was often seen roaming the beach or golf course near the community in Whitefish, Montana. She obtained some human food and was passing on this behavior to both her cubs. Although she never was involved with aggressive tendency toward humans, it was only a matter of time before a dangerous situation became a reality. Spirit was relocated six times, but continued to return to the golf community even after intensive aversive conditioning with the use of Karelian Bear Dogs, cracker shells and rubber bullets. After one of her cubs was killed by a car, officials decided to remove the other cub by placing it in captivity at the Denver Zoo, and then to remove Spirit from the wild forever. Soon after arriving at the Center, this bear received the name Spirit in honor of the spritual signigicance of grizzlies to many Native American people.

Colleen and Cristian met when they were six. Yeah, that’s not a typo. Over the years, friendship blossomed into romance and romance blossomed into an engagement. This shot is from their engagement session. They are just such a fun, sarcastic and easygoing couple - can't wait to do their wedding.

This pretty girl is EDWINA, a 2-3 year old Collie/Aussie mix who’s gentle, affectionate and people-oriented. She has a rather submissive side, so will need kind handling and training to help her build her confidence. Since she’s very attentive, food-motivated and eager to please, she should be a great dog to train.

Edwina is looking for a kind, calm home; she would probably do best as an only dog, but might get along with a younger, easygoing male canine companion.

Edwina lives in Kennel 1.

For more information about Edwina, contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org.

Coola was found orphaned on a highway near Bella Coola, BC. His mother had been killed by a truck and, of her three cubs, Coola was the only one to survive. Coola is an easygoing bear who’s content to let Grinder take the lead in new discoveries.

It's been six weeks or so since I used my DSLR.

This morning was the ripe time to dust it off and take some easygoing snaps at sunrise on Durban Beachfront.

No heavy processing like I'm used to and love - only my standard Lightroom preset.

Great to get out and play with the Nifty-Fifty (50 mm).

We returned home safely several days ago. and my brother's wedding party was over. :) he exchanged that rings I made at wedding ceremony! I cried happily!!!

btw, Morocco is a wonderful, amazing, easygoing place. People were very friendly. :) We enjoyed Moroccan days without feeling bad about them.

It became one of the countries that I wanted to visit again! And, I fell in love in Morocco. :)

The camel master packed sand in Sahara into the bottle of water. The sand texture is so delicate..and redder than sahara in Egypt to which I went before.

I took a lot of photographs. :) but I am sorry I am busy and have not arranged it yet. Please wait for a while..

Here is someone who dreams of “Los Angeles and Mauritius” and visits Chefs and CCD in Mangalore a lot. She likes true and genuine people, big cards, nice clothes and huge collection of jewellery. She hates cheaters, cowards, liars, cockroaches and self-pity. She treasures her inner strength and “dearest, sweetest, neatest” family most and her hobbies include music, long drives, drawing, dreaming and watching TV. She remembers most the “interclass competitions” and “the day her friends gave her a surprise birthday party” of all her days in KMC. Having been inspired by her mother and grandmother she sees herself as a natural flexible and easygoing person and as a successful doctor who owns a “Ford Ikon” looking 10 years ahead in time.

Motto : To be a reliable, competent doctor to save life and to do something special about cancer patients. Take life as a challenge never, never, never give up!

she was such an easygoing girl

TypeTogether was entrusted to develop QlikView Sans, a custom four-style typeface for the software company QlikTech International, which specialises in web-based applications for self-service data visualisation. The primary goals were to create a typeface that performs well on digital platforms in small pixel sizes, works naturally and effectively with large amounts of data, and unifies the look and feel of Qlik’s products internationally. TypeTogether added carefully chosen humanistic elements to grotesque letter structures to create an exclusive typeface that excels in function, clarity, and has an easygoing tone — QlikView Sans. TypeTogether makes tailored typefaces for organizations all over the world, so please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your organization’s needs for custom typefaces.

This is Rover, a 5 year old male Beagle mix.

You won't find a more handsome, regal beagle south of the Mason-Dixon Line, we promise! Rover is the Smokey Robinson of the shelter: sweet, soulful eyes with a smooth, easygoing personality. He's a beagle tried-and-true, with his nose almost always to the ground. We think Rover is sniffing around for this thing called "home," this place the sometimes feels far away to a little shelter dog. Rover is itching for his own home. He'd do well with other dogs and children, but he's also a pretty independent spirit, who can entertain himself with all the delicious smells around the house while you're away at work. He'd be a great pick for someone who wants a friendly dog who is rather self-sufficient. Now, that doesn't mean he wouldn't love a snuggle, or a belly rub, or a nap beside you. He's just not a demanding sort.

I volunteered at PAWS Atlanta. I took photos of some of the dogs and cats that need homes. I thought I'd also remind people you can find great pets at shelters and in rescue groups. And of course, help control the pet population, please spay and neuter your pets!!

Bhutan life.

Bhutanese children are reasonably bilingual (read, write, understand and speak) from the second grade on up. This is more than can be said for most other nations' seven-year-olds.

We have so many expectations of a summer, nice weather, swimming, easygoing outdoorlife, looooooooong, lasting "forever"... The last week has been as we (many of us) want it to be, warm and sunny, hardly a cloud in the sky...

For all you people who need to unwind ...

A requested shoot, as a gift for their mother's birthday.

They wished a relaxed, easygoing picture.

This picture was selected for the gift.

Thank you very much for your visit. Please leave your comments / suggestion / advice.
