Rusted remains of cars in a dump out in a Salt Pan at the rear of Port Parham. I trudged accross mud, through the salt pan. I had at least an inch of mud on the tread of my shoes. I slipped and slid, almost falling over.
Scared I would drop the camera. All just to get some photos of some car wrecks.

Photographs from a five minute radius of my apartment. Glasgow is the only British city I have ever lived in where residents are encouraged to dump *any* outsized domestic waste on the kerbside for colleciton on designated days. Everything gets crushed by a rubbish truck and sent to landfill.
1971 - The night the ammo dump went up. The initial explosion did a lot of damage around Qui Nhon. Blew all the mosquito screens out of the Pink Palace, tiles lifted from a number houses around us. A large hanger on the airfield was flattened and ordnance thrown into property and the streets. A couple of mortar shells were in the street along from the Pink Palace. A busy clean-up for the UXB squad, Arm-forces radio reported it as the largest non nuclear explosion.

The right-of-way to our house is over 175 years old. Along that half mile stretch of dirt road is this pile of rusting barrels, trash and junk. We inquired about it from our neighbors who have lived in our area all their lives. We were told that the property was once occupied by an old gentleman who made moonshine. He was eventually discovered by the government during the Prohibition. His operation was bulldozed under and left to rust. We have named it "The Moonshine Dump".
In the 3 years we have lived here It has given up a few treasures. I have found one in tact glass gallon jug, several, unbroken, amber glass Clorox bottles and several small blue glass containers. Every year the rain and weather uncovers something new to discover.
I recently acquired the Topaz plugin for Photoshop and was eager to play with it. I chose this shot to experiment with. I like it - probably could be better.
Any suggestions and/or criticisms are encouraged and appreciated.
Eric has run out of galley space and was looking for things to dump--this galley has some merit for keeping, however.
One would think London would be tidier for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Bureau of Land Management, Sierra Front Field Office recently contracted with a company to clean a large (approximately two acre) illegal dump site located east of Silver Springs, Nevada. This site, which had the appearance of a small landfill became a popular spot for illegal dumping of trash. Full remediation and restoration of the site required a contractor with heavy equipment to remove larger trash items and mitigate potential hazardous materials on site. The cost of cleaning this dumpsite was approximately $66,000.
"Every year the BLM Carson City District Office receives hundreds of complaints from concerned public reporting trash sites on public lands," said Logan Briscoe, Supervisory Law Enforcement Officer. “When individuals cannot be held responsible for their illegal acts, the expense of cleaning up a site such as this one is often funded through the use of tax payer’s money. The BLM truly appreciates the dedication and devotion of community groups and individual volunteers who spend countless hours of their free time cleaning up public lands so others can experience use of their public lands free from unsightly trash."
Someone dumped 5 tiny kittens by the road. I picked them up in the hope of rescuing them (and to prevent them going feral), but they were too young to be fostered and will be put down.
