An illegally dumped armchair sitting on the footpath, beside the decorated wall of the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton.
I like the juxtaposition of the mural and the dumped armshair which is an art installation in itselt.
A tractor-trailer dump truck unloads sand at a concrete mixing plant in the port area of Bamberg on one of our many partly cloudy, mildly stormy days. Cropped at top to 16:10. A test shot with this newly-acquired Sigma 12-24mm lens (incorrect EXIF lens ID). This photo was not authorized by Schwenk Baustoffe GmbH (Schwenk Construction Materials Inc.). In fact, two young supervisors (or security staff) in yellow vests questioned me about being on the premises before I left. [SNY08236_lr_2000]

Everything you possess has a predestination..
Along with everyone's things, it all winds up in the city garbage.
Then it is all piled onto trains and hauled out of town.
This is the odiferous bridge that leads over the Chicago river. Taking those garage laden box cars out to destinations unknown.
The actual gigantic Chicago garbage dump is just to the left of this bridge shot.... The odor made my eyes water....

one of the many pre 2010 sights in Florida that halted when the balloon burst. Love this aged look of this Volvo truck.
I just managed a shot of this as I was going by. I was the passenger yet I like to catch these on the fly.

Another oldie from back when coal still ran and export business was growing.
On a cold grey afternoon at the head of Resurrection Bay the Seward extra board crew is in the process of finishing up dumping 70 cars of coal at Seward as the 6 SD70MACs are just about to duck into the dump shack. Beneath the train 12 conveyers send the coal back up to ground level and through a series of connecting conveyers leading to the stacker/reclaimer which can be seen just to the left of the lead unit. The Kenai Mountains rise dramatically around Resurrection Bay here at the south end of the ARR at MP 3.4. Once the last car is empty they will double up the train and air test it for the 184N road crew to take back to Anchorage once they come off rest.

CN 3023 leads train 302 through Copetown on a lovely sunny June morning.
I did not expect to get this train as I was helping a friend move a truckload of trash to our local dump...however we got loaded up quick enough and took the scenic route to the transfer station to snag the J leading.

A famous Canadian photographer named Freeman Patterson once quipped that good photography was not a matter of the
distance you were willing to travel. Rather, it was about seeing what was around you. In his book he mentions that the majority of his work was taken less than a kilometer from his house.
“Seeing, in the finest and broadest sense, means using your senses, your intellect, and your emotions. It means encountering your subject matter with your whole being. It means looking beyond the labels of things and discovering the remarkable world around you.”
― Freeman Patterson

WIT: I thought I would play with my coffee cup for this one. I love lots of sugar in my coffee, so I took a dump from a digger. The camera was on a tripod, timer on, and I poured sugar with one hand, and grabbed a flashlight with the other hand as soon as I clicked the shutter, as I forgot that it gets dark very soon at this time of year! In post, I removed my hand, converted to black and white, and cloned out the stray sugar bits that didn't make the cup.

CJ said a number of DB66s were pictured stored in Tees Yard over the weekend, so as I was passing within 1/2 mile on the way home from Hartlepool it would be rude not to have a nosey. The sun was just setting and light was bouncing off the loco sides.

The three other locos lined up behind the gypsum wagons were headed up by 66097 which had worked up to Skinningrove two days earlier, so presumably not stored.
