Hidden in woodland, the engine for this dumper truck appears to now sit separately; the flywheel is visible between the trees. I suspect it's been a while since the Shell oil in the yellow plastic bottle has been needed.

I spotted this manhole cover in a business parking lot near the ocean. Interesting -but true!

Most of Fresno is strewn with litter, but in West Fresno, illegal dumping is ridiculously out of hand. Even along the fantastically landscaped and architecturally grand Kearney Blvd, there are piles of trash everywhere.

I assume this got in here when the fence wasn't there - either that or the fence is removable and the owner just parks it up in there. Seen on Street View on Maoi Place, Honolulu, Hawaii. Sorry, I couldn't get a closer shot, as this was as far as the Street View camera car went. I often wonder if the drivers pay any attention to what they snap?

As I said before, I ran out of sand. When I got it before, I got the sand, I picked it up using my fathers dump trailer. As it turns out, the sand was to heavy and I ended up having to unload most of it by hand.

I really did not want to do that again. To be honest, I am getting tired and cold:) and I have a torn shoulder that is awaiting a second surgery.

So, anyway, I convinced my wife to separate with the extra bit of money so we could pay to have the company deliver it. It was absolutely worth it to me!!! Thank you so much HAT CREEK CONSTRUCTION. They gave me a great deal and have always been kind!

As a bonus I got to see some machinery at work. I love big machines!

playing in my back yard

I found this as I was walking back to my car after a fizzled sunset along the Hudson River. Trying to balance myself on a few small slippery rocks in Converses is no easy task, but I managed to do it without going for a dip. I wish I could have dragged it to shore and gotten it out of the water, but the tide was going out and the water was freezing cold :-(

A knocked down sign at the intersection of Old Karner Road and former Centerville Road. I think it's ironic, the concept of no dumping allowed in the Pine Bush, as garbage dumping is the primary activity that funds that Pine Bush Preserve and pollutes it too. andyarthur.org/photos/pine/nodumpinga.html

I helped (read: tagged along) with Dean to help with eye examinations for families who live at/on/around the Puerto Vallarta garbage dump.

7 September 2017. This spot at the southern end of Moorefield Road is often used for dumping bags of rubbish.

Moorefield Road isn't a main road. But it's where many people go to visit our local Royal Mail Sorting Office. Many more take their kids to the nearby primary school. Or walk to and from Bruce Grove overground railway station.

Some use the small local businesses. Or visit the North London Community House.

As you turn into these streets, does your heart sing or sink? Is there ever a time when there is no fly-tipping? Other than the few hours (minutes?) after each clear-up.

On 7 September credit to the street cleaners for a day (or at least a few hours?) without dumping.

If you want to use this image, ask permission PRIOR to use. Don't be a thief - under most circumstances, I'm quite reasonable.

The hardest of all! Alessandro's 4th Birthday cake. First time I actually carved a cake. Not bad for a 5th fondant cake

On the river trail dump site a 1943 Plymouth used to be baby blue ... only blue shadows play on it now.

I redid the truck so it could fit two guys this time, and not just 1 really cramped person. By doing so, I had to extend the back end just a bit to make room for the doors, which do swing open.

31 August 2015 at 4pm in Moorefield Road N17, near the corner with St Loy's Road. Reported to Haringey Council through Fix My Street free website. www.fixmystreet.com/report/683312

Merged panorama from three photos by Zena Brabazon. Used with her permission.

Below is the reply emailed by Haringey Veolia the Council's waste management contractor.

It's missing any indication of action by Veolia or Haringey Enforcement Team to discover:

( 1 ) Who dumped this rubbish?

( 2) How could this be prevented?
