Day after prom, backyard party, Aarons House

I am really starting to notice a difference as far as how they feel. The ones up front ar really tightening up, the ones in back are really starting to but still a lot of loose ends... but it'll happen. I actually originally did them on October 5th... then Sara redid/tightened them on the 19th of October... so they are either 3 or 2 1/2 months old or something...

What it says on the tin...

Bought myself a couple of little metal ear cuffs for decoration. They're easier to get on and off than the peyote stitch bead.

Getting ready for dreadlocks!

So the dreads are officially 18 months old. My daughter took some time to really work on them yesterday, after adding in some highlights (which you really can't see here because the lighting in our bathroom is really not the best in the world). She did a lot of palmrolling and attempted to round off the ends a bit. Then she applied some aloe gel for good measure. They look pretty good, I think.

I met Alicia online...and she invited us to come and stay at their house as one of the first stops of our tour. We had a fabulous time with their family and have been in touch with them ever since. We had another chance to meet up while we were home, and it was such a sweet time of fellowship and conversation. She started her dreadlocks after we met the first time, so it was so fun to see how they have progressed! It's amazing how God can create such a wonderful friendship across so many miles. I'm overjoyed that we had a few hours at a little coffeehouse in St. Cloud to encourage each other in our journey.

I stopped using a crochet hook Iast month and theyre looking much better. start seeing some pretty awesome natural formed curls ++ theyre getting fatter =D

On April 28, 2008, my dreads turned one year old. This collection of photos, however, was not taken until the end of May. So technically, they are one year and one month old in these photos.

..........

I wanted to show a little bit of the underside because the ones underneath are really locked up. This picture didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I like it nonetheless. Curls. Dreads. Beads. What's not to love?

Hanoï, juillet 2007.

I woke to a very miserable dream and wondered about how it could be possible for the waking world to be just as unreal as the dream world.

up close and personal with my locs. They are just a few weeks old here! I used the backcombing and crochet method.

Can you not see

What I see

When I see yours shine

My heart goes a flutter

There are some things I must say

Can you not hear me

I still hear you

Your breath blows against my neck

I let you connect with me

I let your energy flow through me

I knew you within that moment

That moment we shared

You made me feel beautiful

And you were beautiful

You still remain so

To this very day I go

And I don't push or shove

I wait my love

I wait my love

On this Labor Day weekend, I celebrated the 16 month anniversary of my dreads. Ok, not really. But they are 16 months old. My, how time flies.
