not looking so good. I'm afraid my hair is not responding well to being dreaded. There are loopies all over. I expected wild stages and friz + fuzzies, but is this normal? I was close to deep conditioning this morning to comb them out... I'd love advice from anyone with experience!

10 month old dreadlocks

Here's a look head on. I can tell they are tightening up at the roots and locking up pretty well because of the fullness you can see in this photo. It is now impossible for me to gather up ALL of my hair in a ponytail with one hand. And regular rubberbands to hold it back? Forget it.

..Everyone has another person in them...One of my favourite shot!

On April 28, 2008, my dreads turned one year old. This collection of photos, however, was not taken until the end of May. So technically, they are one year and one month old in these photos.

The photographer was my 15 year old daughter, who I adore. She has this thing about making faces in pictures, though. She kept telling me to do "something", so I acted like I was going to kiss her. She snapped the picture.

She's such a little stinker.

At 18 months they're still shrinking and my ends are insane. I'm still too insecure to wear them down like this, so they're mostly pulled up, like everyday. haha.

Tomorrow my friend is giving me some maintenance and maybe some extensions? At any rate they will be much more tidy and all the loose hair will be crocheted in!! YIPPEE!!

I should mention that I was a little disheartened when I learned that a lot of dreadies on here have extensions, but I'm over it and want pretty ones!! hahaaha.

I put rubberbands in them, just incase.

Two step process - henna, then a 50/50 henna and indigo layer applied the next day.

Upkeep for this pet must be quite a task! Found out the breed name is "Komondor".

This time I mixed up the colors on the polymer clay and added some rhinestones

I have been wearing ponytail dreads for years that I made for myself, and always get compliments. So, I've decided to make them for others.

These Ponytail dreadlocks are perfect for the colorful & wild at heart who has to look "proper" at times. Made from hand-dyed felted wool, these multi-colored dreads are attached to a ponytail holder, making them removable from your hair. Wear them down with your ponytail, or wrap them around in a bun and secure with a hair stick. For a hair stick, you can use an actual hair stick, a chop stick, paintbrush, pencil, or double-pointed knitting needle.
