The pyramids of Giza are perhaps the only true rival to the Great Sphinx when one thinks of ancient Egypt and its architecture. The Valley of Giza -- with its wonderful monuments -- is truly a marvel of architectural prowess. The three largest pyramids located in the valley consist of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Kafhre and the Pyramid of Menkaura.
The Great Pyramid of Giza enjoys special status among the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". None of the others have survived into the modern era. The construction, date, and possible symbolism of the Giza pyramids are still not entirely understood. This mystery only adds to the attractiveness of these ancient wonders and many modern people still regard Giza as a spiritual place. A number of fascinating theories have been offered to explain the "mystery of the pyramids".
Everytime I visit such a famous place like pyramids of Giza, I'm faced with a challenge that this place was photographed probably a trillion times and it is nearly impossible to come with something original. The day I visitted Giza valley rewarded me with some wonderful sky with clouds that created nice shadows passing over pyramids.

The afternoon air in the capital was heavy, humid, and thick with anticipation before the sky finally fractured. Without warning, the heavens opened, unleashing a torrential summer cloudburst that transformed the historic streets of the Byward Market into a shimmering, reflective mirror of gray light and chaotic motion.
Underneath the iconic red-and-white awning of the legendary BeaverTails pastry stand, humanity converged in a frantic scramble for shelter. Umbrellas blossomed like sudden, vibrant mushrooms against the slate-colored downpour—a solitary pink parasol caught the eye, canted sharply as someone wrestled with bags on the slick pavement. Water sheeted down in heavy, visible curtains, blurring the weathered brick facades and casting a moody, cinematic veil over the bustling streetscape.
Inside and under the awnings, strangers became close companions. Laughter cut through the roar of cascading water as patrons crowded tightly around outdoor tables, squeezing beneath red umbrellas that strained against the weight of the rain. A stray dog trotted purposefully through the puddles, unfazed by the sudden deluge, while across the street, onlookers peered out from dry doorways, watching the dramatic weather theater unfold.
It was the quintessential summer storm: fierce, soaking, and utterly alive. In moments like these, the city lost its polished veneer and revealed its beating heart—a vibrant snapshot of resilience, spontaneity, and shared shelter amid nature’s raw fury.

Fun Fact
Termini Imerese’s old town is a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys, many dating back to medieval times. These passages were designed to provide shade and coolness during the intense Sicilian summers.

A moment of silence deep within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda . . .
The silverback moved slowly through the shadows, powerful yet calm, carrying the quiet authority only age and experience can command. In the dim jungle light, every distraction disappeared — leaving only presence, texture, and emotion.
Black and white felt natural for this encounter. It stripped the scene down to its essence: strength, wisdom, and the timeless atmosphere of the forest itself.

A case of being lucky enough to be in exactly the right place at the right time. Looking into Lunedale from Whistle Crag, a small hole appeared in the ominous-looking cloud cover and created a shaft of strong sunshine exactly onto Grassholme Dam.

Nafplion (Modern Greek: Ναύπλιο, Nafplio) or Nauplion (Greek: Ναύπλιων, Naupliōn) is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was the first capital of modern Greece, from 1829 to 1834. Nafplion is situated on the Argolic Gulf in the northeast Peloponnese. Most of the old town is on a peninsula jutting into the gulf; this peninsula forms a naturally protected bay that is enhanced by the addition of man-made moles. The area surrounding Nafplion has been inhabited since ancient times though little sign of this remains within the town. The town has been a stronghold at several times in history.
I still remember the morning I took this shot. I remember how much I wanted to stay in bed and enjoy lazy morning but as soon as I've seen the fog forming above the sea, I forced myself to go out. I had to find some point of interest and was pleased to find these wooden sticks in the water. Photography can sometimes be really demanding, especially for the morning shoot. Well no sleep tomorrow, already planning to go out at 3.45am for the morning blue hour (or blue 15 minutes here in Middle East)

In my town there was fore casted terrible bad weather. So I took my camera and I was waiting for what was coming. Well it wasn't all that bad, but there was some beautiful lightning and I caught one.

The dramatic light continued for the rest of the day and I was largely focused on scouting out locations rather than doing much photography.
This, I couldn't pass up however. The light was really working it's magic on Grindslow Knoll, I got my foreground exposures taken (I always focus stack) and took a dozen or so shots of the background as the shape of the dappled highlights was in constant motion. I picked this one as my favourite. On another note, it really is that insanely green out on the Peak at the moment!
Some nice light around and some gaps in the cloud for the sun to break through as it dives slowly below the lake Taupo horizon.

The evening of August 3rd was something of a dream shoot for me. I have seen many, many photos of golden hour and sunset at Bamford Edge and have yearned to take shots of my own here.
My first composition presented itself before I'd barely summited the path from New Road stile, the light hitting Win Hill with the deep mysterious shadows on the leeward side grabbing my attention as well as the gorgeous texture and shape of the clouds above.
Light like this is usually fleeting, but as I shot my few exposures it became apparent, I had time to finesse the composition allowing me to be more deliberate, I shuffled left and right more times than I care to admit in order to get Lose Hill lined up with the silhouette of Grindslow Knoll above, but absolutely worth doing, if only for myself.
The rest of the house has long succumbed to sleep, but in the quiet corner of the room, time seems suspended. Wrapped in the deep shadows of a plush armchair, she sits immersed in the soft, cool glow of the laptop display—the sole light source carving her profile out of the surrounding darkness.
Her gaze is locked in intense concentration behind her dark-rimmed glasses. One hand rests thoughtfully against her face, fingers pressed lightly against her lip as her mind processes the words on the screen. Is it a late-night breakthrough on a complex project, the final painstaking edit of a long-labored document, or perhaps an unexpected piece of news arriving across the miles?
The deep black-and-white tones strip away all distractions, emphasizing the quiet tension, focus, and intimate solitude of a late-night vigil in the digital age.
Here is one of those Texas roadside revivals that come straight out of the movies. I happened to get there around sunset, so there was nice dramatic lighting to complement the drama of the environs.
The place was totally empty. I got a little bit creeped out...and I felt like maybe I was being watched. I snapped a few quick shots and then made a hasty egress...
